I really can't get behind the sudden anti-data center push because every single thing people claim about data centers - they pollute the earth! They use too much energy! They cause warming! The communities don't want them there! They're bulldozing our beautiful natural spaces for them! They're only a way for rich tech bros to line their pockets at our expense! - are all identical things I've heard from people protesting solar fields, to the point where people online cheer and celebrate when they hear news of people being injured at the solar field I work at.

This is kinda beside the point, but I’m using the tumblr app and it took longer than it should have for me to realize that the first post was a screenshot and not an advertisement.

I remember one time I was doing an ADHD evaluation with a kid who had asked to go to the bathroom like 3 times during the 30-ish minute part of the interview where we asked his mom questions, so I knew that was his go-to excuse when bored. We get started on the WISC-V after the interview and within 30 seconds of vocab starting he asks if he can go to the bathroom, and I say:

Did some programming earlier today and managed to screw it up so badly that the program is now violating causality by executing functions out of order.

Threw out the code and started over with a different (definitely wasteful / smelly) approach, and now I’m back to where I was yesterday morning.

Okay i skimmed through the verdict and a publisher sued Google bc their stupid ai overview said they are scammers. Which they obviously didn't find funny, so they sued. And the court ruled that since the ai has stated things that go further than what you'd find under regular links (as far as I could tell it said that a general article about scammers was in regards to this publisher and also fully made up that the publisher changed their name frequently) and Google generated those statements, it's their responsibility to make sure this won't pop up when you search for the publisher anymore. And in that context then also said that you don't need an ai overview for web searches.

Yep. Basically the AI overview doesn’t fall under the same category as the actual search results, which means it’s not protected.

You know, I am kind of tired of people responding "But God/Jesus is always with you!" When I mention how lonely or alone I feel.

If it helps any, I’d say you’re entirely correct about God wanting us to have human companionship in addition to His presence.
