Fairy Mountain, Nha Trang, Vietnam
It’s been fantastic challeging myself again by climbing up a mountain.
Local call it “Núi Cô Tiên”, with 3 mountain peaks. Located north-west, not so far from the city centre. The height is just about 500m up the highest peak, but the view there was amazing.
We started climbing up at 6pm. The way to the first peak was quite steep and we had to hold on to some tree branches and stones to go up. It took us about 40 mins to reach the first peak.. It was getting dark so we decided to camp there for the night, grilled up some stuff and ate them all in a flash.
That was a warm, humid and cloudy night. We planned to sleep early but gave up on that idea right away and decided to just play cards until the weather cool down a bit. When we catched a glimpse of the moon coming out from the cloud, we rushed out of the tents and took as many pictures of the moon as we could, but sadly, none of them looks good (that’s our bad photographing skills to be blamed for.)
We then went to sleep despite the weather. To be honest, not many of us could sleep well under such weather, but we didn’t really care as the view up there was so worth it.
In the morning, we woke up early, got some pictures of the city view from the mountain and packed up, then continue to go up the last 2 peaks.

The way to the second peak was quite easy, it took us about half an hour to went up the second one. And when we get used to the up and down of the track. It did not take us long to get to the highest one eventhough the track was surounded with steep mountain edge on the left, slippery pebbles under the foot path and no where to hold on to for support at the sides.
Little track to climb up the moutain top
When we reached the top, we felt so good being able to overcome ourselves. Around us was all sort of beautiful sceneries of the city, neighbour mountains and a little bay further away.

At 10am, after leaving a little trace on the top peak, we started climbing back down. We were all wrecked at this point, but still trying our best to complete the journey.
Our trace on the mountain top
Though the way back was not as hard, some of us slipped. Those small pebbles on the track really gave us a hard time. However, we did manage to climb down to the starting point safe and sound in about 1 hour and a half.
If you‘ve ever wondered if you should give this spot a go, I reccommend that you should. The view is fantastic and It’s really not a difficult track.
Our team have a young boy who had never climbed a mountain. He is 13. He was not equipped with proper shoes and clothes for mountain trekking, but he was the first to reach up the top as well as to get back down. Looking at him just make us feel so good to be young. And with that, I hope you would no longer hesitate and would just pack up and go!
Cheer for this fast boy!
