Can we all ofishally agree that the monkeyface prickleback has one of the most amazing names? Neither a monkey nor particularly prickly, this captivating critter spends most of its life hidden in crevices in rocky reefs, rocky tidal zones, and kelp forests. A bit of a homebody, the monkeyface never travels far, mostly staying within 15 feet of its dwelling—which is honestly a big mood.

Juvenile angelfish sometimes look vastly different from their adult counterparts. Pictured is an emperor angelfish. The juvenile (top) has many stripes that break up the body outline to help them blend in on the reef. The adult colors are vibrant and bright.
