I'm about to break down, the stress is literally probably killing me im so depressed. Autistic trans woman who fled Florida for her safety last year is in need of urgent, temporary housing. She's been unable to get a job since moving here, and isn't able to access most state-run assistance programs due to not being a full resident yet.
Her current housing situation is unstable, and she needs to find temporary housing by Friday (3/1). She may have a couch to stay on until Monday (3/4).
We're hoping to get a Motel or AirBNB for her to stay in during this time. Ideally for the full 10 days she needs it.
please even 1-5$ can really make a difference, any amount helps, especially this last minute. any money we get over the goal will be used for food and gas for her car (her only source of income is doordashing rn)
please reblog! please don't tag as d*nations!

jkr actively funds and lobbies for her hate groups and against my country's independence movement with the money she gets from dumb fucks who don't think their dollars count. if you're going to be a moral jellyfish at least simp for a dead bigot.
americans love to treat her like an abstract concept just because she's not paying taxes in their country. last year I had to tell my manager I refused to work on a major account for our healthcare charity bc it was laundering her shitty money. can you put down the racist YA for thirty seconds in solidarity
we got 54 reblogs in before someone said 'yeah duh just pirate her stuff'. so? no? you can't put down the racist YA for 30 seconds? fucking embarrassing.
let me add to this, since there are still people talking over me to say "but it's okay to engage in XYZ context because-"
no it's not okay if you just pirate her work or if you just read fanfiction or if it's your special interest or if your doctor wrote you a note to say you're personally excused bc you have a rare disease that means you'll die if you don't read about racist wizards.
if you engage with her work, talk about it, represent it in any positive or neutral light, or otherwise do anything to keep it culturally relevant, you are contributing to the platform she uses to harrass and dehumanise me and my family and my friends irl.
This thread is from today. (x)
I'm sick of you people pretending this is an abstract moral issue and not an immediate and material threat to my community. Decide where your priorities lie and own them.
Hey, so I just saw your "Normalize making IDF soldiers social pariahs" post (the replied on it were turned off so I couldn't say this there). I am by no means disagreeing with and I am definitely not saying that this applies to every IDF soldier or even the Canadian cyclist mentioned, but I really do want to point out that conscription is a Thing in Israel and nobody has a choice whether or not they serve - and also that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of current IDF soldiers who are willingly serving who hate the war in Palestine as much as we do
TL;DR - Deciding to treat an entire group of people as social pariahs is what got us into this mess in the first place - the actions of one doesn't speak for the group
you can dodge a draft, muhammad ali did it and went to jail. Tal in israel did it and he went to prison for 30 days. i dont really have any sympathy for idf soldiers. i dont super care that theyre conscripted, if they actually really did disagree enough they would leave the army. Here's a testimony from a former IDF soldier who left the IDF after they realized that they were participating in the murder of children and families. To emphasize, I think IDF soldiers who participated in the IDF and are taking active steps to counter their past should not be treated like social pariahs.
joining the army is not treated with the scorn it should be. like at all. so if we show people that you cant live in peace if you participated in the harassment and murder of palestinians, then less people will be willing to put themselves in "danger" and not join the army. because even if they weren't committing the most obvious form of genocide now, they still harrass and accost palestinians as their least lethal form of intimidation that they regularly participate in, even outside of gaza.
What got us into this mess is the colonization of palestine and racism. You can choose to be a soldier or not.
I cannot emphasize enough that there is a huge difference between "treating an entire group of people as social pariahs" on the basis of ethnic or religious or cultural identity, vs. "treating an entire group of people as social pariahs" on the basis of their participation in genocide.
The latter is a perfectly reasonable thing to do actually.

everyone should attempt an artisan craft at some point in their life because it would cut down the number of comments questioning why handmade goods like ceramics or textile craft or woodworking are so expensive
and this is an unrealistic expectation, but I think the attempt should include seeing through to the end at least one "finished" item, no matter how clumsy or lumpy your first attempts might be. like to me, there's a huge difference in perspective between attempting to learn how to crochet or throw a pot for a few days, acknowledging that it's harder than it looks and giving up, versus committing to finishing that scarf or clay pot you started and working on it for weeks while you painstakingly learn from your mistakes and grow attached to your project while also simultaneously hating it.
once you finish the latter, your perspective changes from "why does this crocheted blanket cost $200" to "holy shit I can't believe they're charging $200 for this crocheted blanket instead of $2000" because you may have known crocheting is hard, you may have easily agreed with the idea that "handmade goods take time and effort" even before attempting a craft, but now you know firsthand the absolute time sink it takes to make things. like yeah dude, that one item took you 2 months to make and probably wasn't even an ultra complex item if it was the first thing you made, now imagine attaching an hourly wage to that time to calculate the cost (and this is ignoring every nuance of the artistic element and master crafters being able to work faster/charge higher because of their years and years of experience)
anyway this rant has been motivated by a comment I saw on someone else's ceramic post asking why a mug was $60 and they understand it's handmade but $60 just seems overpriced, and bro do you know how long ceramics take to make. that mug probably took at minimum 3 weeks between how long it takes to throw the mug, dry partially, trim the mug, dry fully, bisque fire, wait a day for the kiln to cool, sand and paint and glaze, glaze fire, wait a day for the kiln to cool, take product photography of the mug, write description and list the mug online for sale, im not even including the skill needed to complete all these steps without the mug literally exploding or collapsing while also making it an appealing piece of art, aaaaaaaaaaaaa
my fun fact addendum I'm adding to this is that unlike knitting, crocheting quite literally cannot be replicated by machine, so if you see "mass manufactured" crochet items on retail shelves for retail prices lol. they weren't mass manufactured and someone was underpaid for that
nothing like seeing recent tags assume this post is referring to mug gate on tiktok and having to learn what mug gate is from friends because I don't use tiktok and realizing it was my turn to be hit with apollo's dodgeball when I wrote this post last year
The vegan to ecofascist pipeline
Actually I'm going to expand on the steps of the pipeline.
It starts with:
"I want to do something to better the environment". A noble pursuit.
Then, "Large scale animal agriculture is bad for the environment". Accurate statement.
Then, "Therefore, I am going to stop consuming all animal products and biproducts." A lofty goal, but still reasonable. It's not something that's for everyone, but if that's what you want to do to do your part, more power to you.
Then, "If I can do it, so can you." Inaccurate. The human body is suited ideally for an omnivorous lifestyle. While the human body is very adaptable, its adaptability varies from person to person, and not everyone is able to subsist off of a vegan lifestyle.
Then, "People who don't follow my lifestyle are maliciously contributing to climate change." We're going into dangerous 'us vs. them' territory now. Now everyone who consumes animal products and biproducts even utilyzes large-scale animal agriculture, and there are myriad of reasons for someone to not be vegan. Personal lifestyle choices are also a distraction from the larger issue at hand, which is that corporations contribute the most to climate change, and blaming yourself and other individuals is a distraction.
Then, "Human beings are responsible for climate change. Humans are inherently destructive." False. Corporations and industrialization is responsible for climate change. Humans are inherently neutral, and for the most part are actually good.
Then, "If there were less people on this Earth, we would have less climate change and pollution." And there we are. At the ecofascism finish line.
Not every vegan ends up at the ecofascist finish line. Many vegans stay comfortably on the third rung of the ladder, focusing on their own personal boundaries and lifestyle choices. However, as soon as you dip your toes into the "if I can do it, so can you" mentality, that's when the ball begins rolling down the slippery slope of ecofascism.
As soon as you begin forcing your lifestyle onto other people, that's when it becomes dangerous.
I'm not a vegan but I- I kinda agree with "Humans are inherently destructive." and "If there were less people on this Earth, we would have less climate change and pollution."
Would also take care of overpopulation, overworking resources, etc.
Buddy........that is literally ecofascism. "If there were less people on this Earth..." you are nuts.

I'm sorry if you're tired of thinking about ofmd and that whole mess but goddamn... it's incredibly painful to see so many people trying to set up fundraisers to get their families out of gaza and the sudan and desperately trying to get their loved ones to safety, I've seen so many and everyday I check to see how much progress they've made, most of them still haven't hit their goal. It hurts to see people rally around a tv show and raise all this money for a billboard, and it's very frustrating to see how people have reacted to this criticism. Like bro tv shows get canceled sometimes there's more important stuff going on
Someone else said it better but to see a fundraiser for tv show renewal advertisements raise $20,000 in less than a day while it takes days/weeks/months/years/never for fundraisers for actual causes that help real people in need reach a goal of less is absolutely dystopian and shameful

genuine actual question for you, my intention isn't to start drama with this ask.
what do you propose we as Americans do?
not voting for Biden will basically ensure Trump and the conservatives win the election, which will be MUCH MUCH worse for the global south, as well as America, as you said in your last post answering an ask.
what do we do to stop this from happening, because as Americans, our only options are Biden or whatever Republican runs this year, probably Trump.
i don't think trump will be "much worse" for the global south, and frankly anyone who says that conservatives will be worse for the global south hasn't been paying attention. maybe in 2020 i would've agreed, but this is what i've been telling you about the past three months. the world has changed. joe biden will never recover his standing in the middle east. no president has been worse for us than joe biden. so don't pretend you are concerned about the global south in general.
its okay to admit trump will be worse for local politics but let's be clear: if trump had overseen this genocide you would have been frothing at the mouth for him to go to the hague. and now you want to deny us the right to say biden is a war criminal who should be at the hague because you're scared of trump. that's okay! its okay to be scared of a worse option. but you can't ask us to lie to you about it, because that option is worse for you, not us.
you as americans should make sure biden knows his chances of re-election are getting worse the longer this genocide goes on and israel escapes justice. you should make sure he knows it's in his own best interest that israel faces the ICJ and that netanyahu, his government, and the leaders of the IDF face the ICC.
i don't know the best way to do that out of the dozens of things people are already doing in america every day—i know if everyone was polling like 18-29 voters, democrats would not be so quick to approve aid to israel and call a genocide trial at the hague 'meritless.' if more americans were openly saying they draw the line at voting for a war criminal regardless of trump (as most arab american and muslim american voters are), i think biden would call for a ceasefire pretty quick.
but what i do know is that stating 'vote blue no matter who' won't stop the genocide. it might not even save the election. there's quite a few key demographics who will be voting 3rd party now because they cannot stomach voting for biden or democrats anymore. these are not people who will be won over by 'trump is worse.' trump is worse for them before he's worse for you, so what does it mean about biden that people still won't vote for him despite it? again—it's your own bad luck he's the one who oversaw a genocide.
democrats believe by november people will have forgotten the genocide so they're letting it go on. they have openly stated this; that's how little they think of their constituents and of palestinians. when you say "as americans our only options are between trump and biden" you're letting me know you're not seeing the present but are fixated on the future. a genocide and an election are two separate events. you have plenty of options to stop the genocide right now, hundreds of thousands of people across america have been taking them daily, and none of them involve trump.
it's january. you are asking me how biden can win an election when you haven't stopped the genocide. there is a hospital being attacked in khan younes right now as we speak. as an american, your concern should not be the election. your concern should be the genocide.
many people think the election is a detriment for israel's plans and will eventually force biden to de-escalate. three months in, i have to disagree. biden is using his election as a bludgeon to continue the genocide. every "vote blue no matter who" post is a "genocide is fine!! keep going!" post. every campaign for joe biden right now is simply approval of genocide. it is impossible to avoid that. liberals who try to convince people to vote for a war criminal in an on-going genocide are complicit. its not our fault biden's campaign is synonymous with genocide, its his own.
it's in your own best interest not to make genocide a forgivable crime for a president. how he can possibly make up for it in time for the november, this i don't know. there are already some voters he's lost forever. but in order to campaign for biden, he should have at least stopped fucking killing kids. you can argue about the merits of trump vs biden when the election is here, but you can't make that argument until you actually stop the genocide.

we go together Is a surreal slice-of-life webcomic by Pim updated three times a week
every so often im struck by the memory of one of my college professors getting very angry with our class (art history of pompeii 250) because when she excitedly detailed the ingenious roman invention of heated floors in bathhouses via hearths in small crawlspaces, we asked who was tending the fires. she said "oh, slaves i suppose. but that isnt the point". and we said that it actually very much was the point. she had just told us that in roman society there were dozens of people, maybe hundreds, who spent every day of their enslaved lives crawling in cramped, hot, smoky tunnels to light fires to warm pools of water (which they were not allowed to swim in). how could that not be the point?
she wanted us to focus on the art, on the innovation of heated plumbing, on the tiles and decorations of the bathhouses, and all we wanted to do was learn more about the people under the floors. and she didn't know anything more about that. in fact, she said she thought we were focusing too much on superfluous details.
it feels almost hokey to put too fine a point on the idea im getting at here but i will anyway: There are a lot of people who are still under the floors. all these beautiful, convenient, brilliant innovations of modern society (think fast fashion, chatgpt, uber, doordash) are still powered by people working in inhumane, untenable conditions.
the people who run these systems want you to focus on the good - who doesnt love warm water? - but if anything is going to improve or change in our lifetimes, you need to examine these things with an attentive, critical, and empathetic eye. and for fucks sake stop ordering from amazon

the gay girl dating scene is really like this
why did you add this to my post about wanting to have sex with women
The post that almost went to horny jail, then landed in wholesome territory
Oh, shut the fuck up. Why is it “horny jail” for a woman to want to kiss another woman? Why do women who like other women require a “wholesome” edit to fix their “horny” comic that was about nothing more than an expression of attraction? Because we’re gross for our desires? Because we’re unpalatable unless we’re ~chaste~ and ~wholesome~ and ~unpolluted by sexual attraction~? People view all lesbian attraction as predatory and it SHOWS. I hope you’re ashamed of this, genuinely.
Tumblr users never think critically about the religious views they were indoctrinated with as children and up creating cathowlwicism
fixed it
I'm tired of USAmericans trying to find "harmless" things to he "ironically" nationalistic about no you're not oppressed because GBBO fucked up s'mores no you don't get to compare it to the time they messed up Mexican food if I'm being honest the Paul Hollywood s'mores look better than the horseshit they forced me to eat at sixth grade camp.
I know a lot of you are silently chafing at the idea that your country is evil and you can't like being USAmerican even if you don't want to admit it and it makes you feel left out or guilty or whatever and you take this out by acting uppity about Fahrenheit or inches or "our" food (most of which is just variations of other cultures' cuisine, because the US doesn't have culture except for those which it absorbs, oppresses, or destroys) to which I say: chafe harder and shut the fuck up lol.
I'm not fighting with anyone over this post cause that would be stupid and I'm as USAmerican as a carcinogenic burger lol but I'll just say:
1. The reason it pisses me off is cause I'm tired of seeing ignorant USAmericans harass and fight with my non-USAmerican mutuals (and assume they're Europeans cause they're speaking English and have the Internet) for them gently ribbing on shit like Fahrenheit and hamburgers, which is what inspired this post.
2. People do use it as an excuse to be "ironically" nationalistic in a deeply reactionary and chauvinistic way they would otherwise not be comfortable with, especially towards non-USAmericans from imperialized countries.
2. Yes people acted this way over the fucking s'mores in GBBO, exhibit A:
(haha it's funny cause they're referencing the time settlers dressed up in redface to dump tea in Boston Harbor)
4. I'm not going to tell anyone from marginalized or oppressed nations or cultures within the US how to relate their sense of cultural identity to USAmerican identity, that's your own shit to figure out.
5. If you're upset about the erasure of Black USAmerican culture, indigenous culture, Chicano culture etc. you should probably direct that anger to the USAmerican state that has been trying to erase and destroy those cultures for hundreds of years and not random Internet posts making fun of other USAmericans for acting cunty about disgusting campfire food.
