SHIELD/Hydra, delighted to now have full access to tony’s files, when he doesn’t care anymore to protect them. And Tony’s funeral is held by a room full of people who would do anything to have him back and don’t realize that they could.

he’s not in their story any more. he’s stuck in the same one from when he was 15, only now as a side character.

and then he gets invited to an awards show that he’s actually expected and required to attend and really cannot skip out on. and he immediately thinks “i’ll just send a suit” and then realizes he does not, in fact, have a metal body double of his actual physical body
