This is one of the most horrifying entries yet in the story because of how we see again the callousness of Dracula for the humans he sees beneath him, and the sheer commitment to making Jonathan understand that he will become a dead man walking once the Count gets tired of keeping him kidnapped.

Yes, the dreadful terror of Jonathan when he realized how the Count's scheme with his clothes practically erased any kind of help he could have gotten from any nearby villages if he managed to escape is really good. The Count manipulating human nature against a known threat into effectively making Jonathan a target for the grieving rage of any villagers is an excellent way to show how trapped is Jonathan, but I think the moment with the mother and wolves is the highlight of the entry.

We, the readers, are finally seeing the ripples of Dracula's actions against other people that are not Jonathan, and how his position as an undead aristocrat causes so much pain in a way that is amplified by his vampiric status. Dracula is not exclusively terrifying because he is a vampire, count Dracula the nobleman warlord who happens to be an undead supernatural being who has not qualms in using both an innocent mother and a traumatized man, which ends up with both mother and baby dead, to instill terror via his legend is what makes him terrifying.

June 24 is the breaking point and June 25 is when Harker gets busy.

After all he has suffered at the hands of the Count so far, it's good to see that a woman being torn apart by wolves is enough to get Harker to snap out of it and get a plan going.

Harker plays the Count at his own game and I can only imagine how wild it would've been to see a mortal man clamber out of his window and scale the stone face of the castle.

The reward for going looking?

Something that I think would've been more upsetting than everything else he's seen so far.

The Count's corpse (??? surely if you or I saw this, we would assume it was his corpse and nothing else) and the Count's dead eyes so filled with hatred that Harker panics and scurries back to his bed to collapse.

I feel rather conflicted. On the one hand, I feel terrible about the psychological warfare my good friend is being subjected to as the unwilling classic RPG horror game protagonist. On the other hand, a long nap in a box and a good amount of pressure on the chest does sound appealing. The Count, as treacherous as he may be, could be onto something here.
