Relationships are interactions between subjective worlds rather than purely objective reality. Each person relates not only to the other person but also to the version of that person constructed within their own mind. Projections, assumptions, expectations, experiences and personal narratives all influence how one person experience another. If it’s mutually favorable, the relationship will be favorable but if it’s not, it’s not.

We cannot live in a world that is not our own, in a world that is interpreted for us by others. An interpreted world is not a home. Part of the terror is to take back our own listening, to use our own voice, to see our own light.
