What does your character find repulsive or disgusting?
Mac and Cheese. Anyone would after spending a few months eating the stuff. Just showing her a picture of it would bring her to grimace at the sight of it.
Describe a scenario in which your character feels most comfortable.
The televisionâs glowing, but itâs difficult to tell whatâs on it. By this time of the night, itâs probably some infomercial, but that isnât what sheâs focused on. The light serves as a decent book light, and she flips another page in the packet of research sheâs looking over. Thereâs a pen in her hand, and she jots down a few notes onto the margins here and there. It doesnât seem to bother the slight weight on her shoulder.
She turns the page and continues to read, letting out a yawn once sheâs halfway through. Her eyes feel heavy, but she canât seem to close them. Instead, she lets her head lean on his, continuing with her work.
In the morning sheâd wake with a crick in her neck, but, for now, she seems more than content.Â
Describe a scenario in which your character feels most uncomfortable.
It isnât the first time her article has been turned down, forgotten after a sexist remark. Her style of clothing and her apparent lack of a ring was not something up for debate in a professional setting. It wouldnât be the last time, she knew, but it only meant she would try harder, find another way to achieve a standard they could never imagine.
She would carve a name for herself, and, if the world would later find them, so be it. At the very least, she was enjoying what she had and the liberties she was granted with the title she has.
In the face of criticism, is your character defensive, self-deprecating, or willing to improve?
Or? Why canât it be all of the above?
It depends on the situation.
In a professional setting, if the remark is in regards to her being female, she would be defensive. She wouldnât act in an unprofessional manner and continue the line of thought, but would leave i t at one sharp remark before redirecting it elsewhere.
If it is a genuine criticism meant to improve and to point out weaknesses, she would strive to improve.
Either way, she would be silently self-deprecating for having such remarks in the first place. Â
Is your character more likely to keep trying a solution/method that didnât work the first time, or immediately move on to a different solution/method?
She would continue to keep trying the same method in the same way madness is defined. However, she would be looking for alternative methods as she continues the same approach.
It was an odd pose, but she was attempting to hold up an oddly colored axew towards the Live Caster for him to see. The pokemon looked at the device, curious as to what it was and attempted to reach out to grab it. The professor grinned, all smiles, as she continued to speak.
âAs you can see, thereâs a high rise in âShinyâ Pokemon residing, here, in the Nature Preserve.â

Bianca took a second to take a deep breath, letting the air flow through her lungs. âOh manâ itâs so cool Professor! I think I managed to design a new app for that Rotom Pokedex for Alola! I think it could be so usefulâ at least, I hope it could be!!â
âOh yeah?â She leaned over the girl, looking to see if she held the device in her hands. âCould I see it? Now, what was it for again ...?â Leave it to her to be so forgetful.

A Pokemon headcanon that I feel should be something more commonplace among the RP community:
As we are all aware⌠just as there are many different Pokemon across the regions, there are many different animals all over the world in real life.
In real life, there are animals everybody seems to know and recognize, which tend to be popular zoo exhibits or those more commonly found around the world. There are plenty of other animals thatâunless you take a particular interest in zoologyâmany people are unfamiliar with. They may be animals seen before, of which the name is forgotten or never learned, or they may be a completely new discovery for a person.
Now, there are millions of species of animals in real life, more generally categorized still by a staggering amount of taxonomical terms. There is no one person who knows of them all, no matter how studied of a zoologist they are.
There may only currently be 802 species of Pokemon total (not including Mega Evolutions and Alola Forms) which is a very significantly less amount for any person to remember (I mean, very many of us fans are able to name the majority if not all of them easily), but I believe species recognition should work somewhat similarly in the Pokemon world as it does in real life. If a species is rare in a region or isnât native to a region at all, it would make sense that it could be a personâs first time learning of its existence.
Instead, we lazily seem to just assume all people in the Pokemon world are able to recognize all Pokemon right off the bat. Even if they recognize them, itâs not often they are surprised if itâs not a species theyâve ever seen in person before.
I think that in the roleplaying community, it could spice things up just a smidge if our characters were occasionally surprised by the sight of certain species or uncertain about what to call some species. Reacting to a characterâs Pokemon with, âWhat is THAT thing?â or âOh, you have one of those giant Water-type Bugs!â could spark some more entertaining dialogue and material to write. It makes it feel more realistic, which I am personally always a fan of doing in my writing!

âProfessor~â
Bianca scrambled to her, the bundle of files almost flying out of her hands. âYouâ Iâ Youâ Thereâs aâ I canât believe Iâ Itâ Thereâs aâ You gotta see this!â Words were falling out of her mouth at a rapid pace, the girl seemingly very, very excited.Â
âBianca? I---â While she couldnât help smiling at the girlâs enthusiasm, it would certainly bode her well if she could relax enough to say what she wanted to say. âTake a deep breath and then tell me what it is I need to see.â

âItâs only fun if you enjoy going hours upon hours on something that you love.â Relate-able, of course, since Steven did the exact same thing when it came to his own research with geodes, continents, gems, and stones. Learning something new definitely was an intense drive, especially if he was working on a learning high.Â
Pulled out of his thoughts, the man looks over at the professor with a genuine smile. She reminded him so much of professor birch in a way, where they kept their nose buried in information until they suddenly decided to go hop somewhere else to break away a bit.Â
âSounds fine by me, I wouldnât mind having you as company. Iâll treat you too while iâm at it. We can always continue the research later on- when weâre full, of course. Thereâs a coffee shop not too far away from here too, so we can always bring back extra stuff for us to munch on.âÂ
Steven pauses for a moment when he turns on his heel. âThe origins of pokemon⌠itâs mind blowing to think that the possibility could derive from fossils. Do you think?âÂ
âAh, now that wouldnât do. IÂ invited you. At the very least, we could make it a dutch treat?â She smiled in return, placing the book onto the table and moving to stand. The chair was pushed back into place, and she gave her work a quick assessment, wordlessly inventorying the stacks before turning towards Steven once more.
âOf course, it would be one theory. The evolution of pokemon taking place in various ways. The sudden appearance of Klink from chargestone caves is one. The drastic change between fossilized pokemon towards pokemon today is another.â
âThen, with technology today, weâre able to create our own artificial pokemon. As one company has done with Porygon.â She waved her hand, although he had brought up the topic in the first place, she doubted it was one that heâd cared to engage beyond the fossils. Never mind how she knew all the technicalities between it all would make plenty of otherâs heads spin. It was easier to keep it simple and short.
Her smile became apologetic. âWe should hurry, they may close soon as itâs already quite late.âÂ

He chased after the spheal, but it was faster than he was. While trying not to slip on the flooring, Yuuki trailed the pokÊmon until he heard it barking ⌠nearby?
Eventually, he noticed that the lady from before had disappeared from view. His grip on Loudredâs pokĂŠball tightened as he walked in the direction of the barking, and realised that he was standing at the top of a (short) flight of stairs.
There, at the foot, was the lady from before. Her lab coat must be awfully crumpled now. The same went for her nicely-ironed pants.
âAre you okay?â Yuuki called out, cupping his hands to his mouth so he could be better heard over the eager spheal. âCan you stand?â
How embarrassing -- to be caught in such a poor state.Â
She smiled either way, laughing a little at her own misfortune. Cupping a hand around her mouth, she waved up at him. âHello there! Thank you for checking up on me.â
Brushing off her pants, she found that, indeed, her pants were now crumpled, her impecble coat now matched the stone and frost around them. How lame. Still, she forced herself to stand, feeling an odd twinge at her ankle and inwardly cursing herself. Was it sprained?
She leaned against the cave wall; âIâm fine!âÂ
@giarupack continuation from this postÂ
Interesting, she didnât seem to have heard him from the way she was distracted by all of the books, binders, and manuscriptsÂ
âHmmâŚâ His hand came up to his mouth in thought- also to keep the incoming dust from making its way into his system.Â
âAll I have said is that you should refrain from over-working yourself. It can be quite bad for your health.â IÂ should really take my own advice, Steven thinks to himself as he picks up one of the books to carefully page through it.Â
âI would hate to keep your time if you were going to try to keep going forward with your research without a break.âÂ
Ah. So, that was it.
She smiled faintly, grateful for his concern. âBut isnât it fun?â Yes, being locked up in a room all day didnât sound like the best way to spend her day or hours, but when it was for something she was entirely involved in, it made it more than worth it.
Taking the string bookmark, the professor gently aligned it on the inner spine, keeping her spot and closed it gently. A few notes were jotted down onto her papers next to her, a few things she knew she would forget if she continued their conversation.
âWe should get something to eat. I havenât eaten yet,â and it was already late evening. She doubted he wasnât the same with his work. âIt would be nice if I had some company.â

Daigo sighed again. When Uncle Juan said that this was going to be a perfect summer adventure, he sure hadnât anticipated the incident at the airport. Neither did he care to mention that Kalos was absolutely packed with strangers, and languages he couldnât even read.
Uncle Juan must have had a particularly wild time as a trainer, he eventually figured.
He patted Wingâs back idly. The skarmory clicked its beak in approval as it looked around for anything interesting in the city â there it went, one of those fancy dog pokĂŠmon that came in all shapes and sizes. Right now, that one sported a particularly hilarious combination of green and hat made out of fur.
Wing clicked its beak twice. Daigo looked at it.
âYes, food,â he quickly agreed before Wing got any ideas, âNot one of those sandwiches though. They do it funny in Kalos.â
Aurea didnât mind the strangeness of the sandwiches here in comparison to back home. It wasnât like Papa and her hadnât scrounged around for some kind of something that resembled food on their travels before --- but Daigo wouldnât have liked all that. Heâs always stuffed up in his room unless she comes around, and since they werenât sleeping outside, maybe they could splurge just a little.
She just didnât know the difference between their sandwiches and the ones in Sinnoh. They seemed kind of the same too her -- far more fancy than the ones in Unova.Â
Min tugged on her sleeve, pointing towards one of the ally ways, sparking an idea for the budding trainer. âOh...! Well, Uncle said that thereâs a couple of restaurants here thatâs great for trainers that we could go to.â

There was no way he could keep up. Hiking was an activity he did on occasion, but it wasnât up some silly mountain. He wasnât nearly old or tall enough for mountains yet, according to Father. Maybe in a couple more years, Father had said, and Daigo had nodded.
It wasnât like he was particularly interested in the physical activity this time, anyway. Time he got to spend with Aurea was well worth the effort. As terribly bad as she had been with certain pokĂŠmon (he never really did understood why she couldnât deal with a klang), he did recognise her as good company.
Sure, his tailor-made shorts and button-down shirt were grass-stained in a few places and heâd torn a corner of his shorts. But she had made sure he was safe and unharmed. Sheâd held his hand and pulled him up a difficult slope because the sportiest pair of shoes he had werenât made for hiking on such rough terrain.
He shifted, and stirred.
She was quick to notice, stopping almost immediately to look down at him. Ah, she was always the tall one between them --- it helped that she was much older and girls always did grow faster. So, it was kind of natural for her to look down at him in the literal sense. (Never what it implied.) She turned away soon enough, realizing it probably wasnât exactly the nicest thing in Hoennian culture or whatever, choosing to bring a free hand to comb her hair, lifting her hat as she did so.
âWe should probably head down now,â she said, trying to make it sound like she was talking to herself. Daigoâs fam--security was probably roaming around some place nearby, trying to find them by now. Itâd be bad if theyâd got to them, or at least annoying. It meant she was gonna get lectured by way more people than necessary, nevermind their rough handling and ---
In short, it was just such as pain.
She nudged him a little, âif you stay sleeping, Iâll just give you a piggyback right all the way to your room.â Have their fathers stare and all their fathersâ visitors too!Â

BLAIR GIVES A wry smile at the chiding wag of the professorâs finger, amusement teetering on genuine, if there wasnât the ever-present fear and concern of the truth sitting in the back of his mind. from the way she acted and spoke, it seemed as if she didnât hear anything from cheren, and a part of him is relieved as much as he is terrified. he knows at some point sheâs bound to bring his reappearance up to bianca or cheren, and if itâs the latter ââ
this fleeting kindness and pride she offers to him is finished.
a small noise bubbles up his throat at the hand atop his head, eyes squinting closed as he allows the woman to toy with his hair affectionately. when was the last someone had done this sort of thing to him, treated him as a child and spoke so warmly? itâs all too nostalgic, he almost wants to cry â but he doesnât. he wonât. he canât.
at the very least, sheâs offering coffee.
â  anything for the professor!  â  blair chirps, moving a hand to fix misplaced strands of hair, courtesy of juniperâs greeting.  â  ahaha, unfortunately, youâre going to be disappointed in my pokedex⌠i havenât really added anything new in a long time during my travels, iâve been far too distracted with everything else around me. â
â  what about you, though? how have you been since we last saw each other? itâs pretty strange for you to be out this far from your lab⌠ â
she leans back, placing her hands on her waist. for some reason, it doesnât disappoint her, knowing he hadnât been able to fill it. perhaps, she accepts his alibi. at least, he looks well, sort of, physically. the fact heâs grown to her height is evidence of that.Â
âgood; I know the perfect place.âÂ
she places a hand against touyaâs back, almost as though she wants to reassure herself that he is here, in the present, not an afterimage of what could have been. the thought brings her to laugh a little as she directs the two of them to the little cafe she had in mind.
âhm? is it?âÂ
and then it hits her. Â
sheâs always given them the impression sheâs always waiting in the lab, hasnât see? itâs fairly easy to do when she has her assistants there all the time to warn her --- or with bianca taking care of a few particularly pesky things that required her to stay. cheren only knew due to that little connection. Â
âconsider this a special occasion,â she answers more out of habit, winking as she pushes the door open for them. the little bell at the top of the door lets out a quiet jingle, and the little shop is just as vibrant as elesaâs gym -- it came with being part of nimbasa, the professor imagines. âjust like our cup of coffee.â
because it feels like youâll leave the moment i look away.
âthank goodness thereâs a few seats.â juniper sighs, seeing just how âspaciousâ it is. thereâs barely two tables empty there. barely, since one still has trash on it, so thereâs only one place really to stay.Â

â My English reading isâŚÂ â It was⌠developing. Which was more than it was a few years ago, when all the signs and wording in this region were indecipherable shapes and symbols. She could easily text her friends now, and read messages from themâand reading basic books wasnât difficult ( plus, no one questioned anyone as petite as her in the childrenâs section of the bookstore, for some reason ) â Itâs okay, I guess⌠but itâs still not great right now. Most of what I can read is informal stuff, or easy booksâI canât read academic texts like what I wanna use to find out more about this place. Isnât it called, likeâŚÂ âÂ
She glanced down at the text in front of her, tracing along the word from left to right with her index finger ( thatâs the right habit, isnât it? ) â Itâs called the⌠the dream-yard, right? â She enunciated each part of the compound word separately, deliberately, trying to make sure she was pronouncing it correctly ( inadvertently missing the purpose of it being compound )Â
â Why is it called that? I was hoping the text would reveal something to me about the origins of the name⌠thereâs some strange pokemon back in my home region that connect to dreams, nightmares, even astral projection. âÂ
There was a sad smile crossing her features as she closed the book, resting her left hand over it. It ---that was a troubling time. It wasnât what long ago, maybe just long enough for it to be forgotten by the younger generation. Whatever the girl was researching, it wouldnât be found in these books. They wouldnât carry the truth theyâd muffled over time, or, at the very least, the truth of the event.
âThe âDreamyard,ââ The professor repeated, âis known for pokemon well connected with dreams: Munna and Musharna. Itâs one of the only places in the world where they can be found.âÂ
She stopped herself, knowing she was derailing from the main point.
âBut the Dreamyard wasnât always called that. The ruins there arenât as old as you could imagine.â Glancing over these texts, she let out a sigh. She should have known, really. If sheâd paid any attention in the beginning, they wouldnât have wasted as much time as they had. âIt used to be called âPokĂŠmon Energy Laboratory.ââ
âIâm afraid youâll have to ask a colleague for more information, she ---ah, it isnât my place to tell you.â She shook her head.Â
