i think this is a good time to go on about ruri a bit more
shes from bbq and of hispanic descent. she moved to springdale because of her mother seeing an opportunity for her job there
(her mom works as a butcher and sells meat of pretty much all kinds.)
im flip-flopping on actually doing this, but her canon team MIGHT be made up of lower rank yokai?? i have yet to decide which ones to use but id like the theme of this untitled ykw au to be about perseverance against the odds.

she first met chatalie after her. messy. first day of springdale high school where she uncontrollably bragged and yapped about her sewing and fashion prowess without ever committing to showing that (it should be known that she IS actually very good at those hobbies tho).
when she got home from that whole disaster, she actually encountered a lone yokai watch on the kitchen table. she thought it was a belated birthday gift, as her birthday happened while they were moving so they couldn't actually celebrate it, but as she got closer, she also noticed a weird, coin-shaped trinket with what appeared to be an imprint of a big-mouthed girl she hadn't seen before next to it.
suddenly, she was struck by a weird temptation towards the watch and trinket. she wasn't even that interested in watches before! so, with a bit of hesitation, she put on the watch and inserted the "trinket". then uh. boom. chatalie. girlie just decided to give ruri her medal purely for allowing herself to brag and yap all she wanted without embarrassment. what a diva.
ruri has a larger circle of online friends than she does irls (if we're talking exclusively humans), the one she hangs out with the most having been met over on the yokai watch universe equivalent of tumblr. said friend was apparently a twitter refugee who honestly just got tired of the state of it and jumped ship. ill give you like. 3 guesses + 1 hint as to who this could be (its not a human, ill give you that)
on the topic of ruri's hypothetical tumblr, she normally posts fandom stuff, cosplay/clothing concept art, and random rambles. buddy she can type for days and STILL not be done. her friend also posts random stuff, but also posts botanical photography of like. trees n shit and uh. annual pizza tier lists for the funny. ruri's always the first reblog for the pizza tier list
shes quite airheaded and timid, she doesn't talk very much but also doesn't know when to shut up after she opens her mouth.
also shes very. inexperienced with love. she prolly wouldn't know how to confess even if the knowledge hit her in the head.
