Interviewer: "What came first for you, the archaeology or the art?"

Me: Definitely the art came first. I discovered dinosaurs around age 30. I quickly realized that they had evolved a lot from where they were when I first met up with them as a kid. There were already strong ideas bubbling up in the Paleo world. The dinosaurs were now regarded as intelligent, warm blooded, dynamic, parental, and feathered. Dinotopia picked up on the science that was emerging at the time, and I got a lot of support from research paleontologists.

BTP: And they embraced the fantastical elements as well?

GURNEY: Absolutely. They all grew up with science fiction.

sincerely apologize if you dont want to engage with this topic but isff recently went on a rant about how she lost friends because of a frankly liberal post by someone saying they Don't Care About Fiction but csa is bad (reblogged and approved by some of her notorious supporters, which already gives me a clue that said post isn't exactly something truly against these people) and it's just killing me how even the sentiment of "porn and fiction isn't THAT big of a deal compared to real csa because csa was there before the fiction!", which is what she initially championed, isn't enough now bc in her book you have to just full on completely support pedophiles or you're evil

Ugh I didn't like that post that much from antichildabortionclinic but I'm going to be honest, I don't always agree with her or like her. Obviously the source of "lolisho" is patriarchal obsession with pedophilia as opposed to causing pedophiles. However as someone groomed with it specifically I slightly disagree with her assessment. I know she doesn't mean in general, but I bristle at her saying "I don't care if someone watches incest/pedo anime" well. I do lmao. And her reblogging from known fans of it like strawberry-crocodile etc. tell me why she doesn't care. Anyway misstrogen has me blocked so ♥️ idk what she said about the post but of course she would shift the goalposts.
