I have this really random story idea that I can't get out of my head, where it's this girl (probably from the modern world) who somehow gets transported into some otherworld, thinks the whole thing is a dream, and since (based off my own experience with dreaming) she is able to control her dreams she just... unlocks the ability to perform magic and just tries to nope out of there, but wounds up in some deep otherworldy political conflict and now has to hero's journey it up across the realms with The Chosen One and Cast of Colorful Characters and bing, bang, boom, "I'm just a girl" ordinary protagonist with special abilities in an isekai

recently got into reading LO rewrites (they're so fun <3), so I wanted to redraw LO Persephone and Hades in my style

raaahhhh this took me forever lol (art block stalled me for weeks) + backgrounds are my worst enemy

started out as comic practice and I ended up making a full page

And, in writing as well, I feel as if genAI is pushed to/by people who like the concept of having their book idea written rather than actually wanting to write a book. Since they are used to being consumers of artistic media, they took on a consumerist mindset in terms of the value of art. Some even fail to understand the difference between consuming vs producing in terms of artist media, but that's a whole other topic. (I think writing is heavily romanticized and people get the wrong idea about the actual writing experience).

This is why artists look at genAI content with such disdain: because the value of art is in its production, not its ownership. Art is the craft, the creation, and the relationship between an artist, their work, and the audience (debatable), but regardless, genAI takes that away from us.

Art and writing are valuable to me because I love not just having my ideas be real, but the process of transferring my ideas to paper (in a sense). It's just fun making stuff? And genAI lets me not do that? Crazy thought, I guess?
