Okay so maybe this was a bit of a stretch for today’s peachtober prompt, “strawberry” …but I had this goofy idea stewing in my brain for a while and figured this was my excuse to finally draw it lmao

i was just poking around online and i found a 1935 canadian french/english baseball vocab document (here, 9 pages long, lots of detail) and it's fun to see what was changed by these broadcasters specifically! (Or how much of this 1935 vocab was written down but not actually in common use, or what was in common use and then got replaced in popular use by English terms when radio/TV broadcasts became very available but only really in English...) Strikes, even, called "bonne", as in just good. Strikes are good. I love how foul tips were effleurée... They used to call hitting a triple "frapper un trois-but" which would absolutely take ages on tv vs just saying triple.
