there hasn’t been any art yet. art is just the beginning. -constantin brancusi
about me.
ren. 23. they/it. art historian with medieval studies minor.
i am currently one research seminar away from graduating, and have studied a large variety of regions and periods in art. i am both an artist and a writer, and do research on things i find fascinating for fun.
art history is my passion and my profession, and i hope to spread some affection and knowledge for it here.
some of my art history interests are medieval/early renaissance altarpieces, baroque architecture and sculpture, 20th century abstract expressionism, 20th century abstract sculpture, japanese silk paintings and handscrolls, chinese cultural revolution art, and hindu + buddhist art.
about this blog.
this is a sideblog where i will post art history facts, works of art, and quotes. it will follow my interest at the time, or what i think is something worth sharing.
i will provide art labels (title, artist, date, location) when the information is known, as well as it’s current location if known.
i will provide citations for historical information— always feel free to ask for a source or further readings for anything posted, i am happy to provide :)
always feel free to reach out with questions or to discuss anything i’ve posted. again, art history is my passion, so i am always happy to talk about it
