reading about the participation of children in rituals as a form of play in ancient greece and came across an incredibly charming story from julius pollux's onomasticon where a flood prevented the adults from reaching a sanctuary to sacrifice a ram to heracles, and the children solved the problem by....sticking a bunch of sticks in an apple to give it "legs" and "horns" and offering it as a sacrifice instead. it's such a charming thought and i can perfectly picture kids these days also pretending at sacrificing an apple "goat" at recess

No I went to the critical tag cuz I usually don't get annoyed there and saw someone say that the complaints are from Armand and Lestat fans who are too much on twitteeeer this is hell. People complaining about racist, anti-black writing and that's what you have to say about it??? Don't piss me off. And that's without considering how shit of an adaptation of a book tvl was. Characters can be flawed but they don't exist in a vacuum and choices made by the writers have intent behind them. Ok rant over will look at other shit

Rolin Jones is stepping down from the role of showrunner... And Hannah Moscovitch will take his place. Which means nothing and makes me think that the writing of the show will remain racist and that the characters will remain shadows of themselves. I don't have any faith they'll be able to handle Akasha, Maharet, or Mekare. Or Khayman. For obvious reasons.

Plus RJ will remain an executive producer.

I don't think they plan on listening to anything that's being said beyond surface. This feels like a decision that was made to shut us up. But the things she says about the characters and especially about Louis (though her apparently positive feelings on the changes made to Gabrielle also worry me) tells me nothing will change, ESPECIALLY if they don't change the writers room.

Some of the stuff she's said today already pissed me off but I can't focus on that rn cuz I'm busy. But yeah we're still fucked. I'm just choosing to ignore most things post s2.

But also, I was excited about the possibility of RJ getting uncomfortable questions but he chickened out lmao. At least they seem to be aware that a lot of us aren't happy.

It seemed to me that Daniel got that Sofia was Gabriella in episode 3 when Lestat does that “She’s here, right……. Here ♥️” bit, because he gave Sofriella that look and then asked Lestat about the great conversation, her earlier question but this time without prompting from her, like he internally went, “Oh that’s your mother who just scream-banged your doppelgänger, but as a skillful investigative journalist, I’m not gonna call you on that now, instead I’ll ask what she wanted me to ask earlier and get more of sense what’s going on before I trigger my subject to raise a defensive wall.” But it turns out he just gave Sofia a weird look for funsies.

Daniel Malloy, two time Pulitzer prize winning investigative journalist, who interviewed oil execs and sex workers and ex-KGB operatives and single moms, cannot read a room.
