I keep missing WIP Wednesday so I decided to make one big post with all progress I've gotten done over the last few weeks.

Started with some measurements of my grandma's arm and the sweater, to get an idea of my gauge and how many more rows I would have been need. I was stuck on the left sleeve, since I wasn't sure I had enough of my skein for both sleeves. This first version of the left sleeve ended up being 2 inches too short despite my measurements and the ribbing was a bit too loose for my liking.

In the end, I didn't have enough of the teal yarn for both sleeves, but there was enough of the pistachio for the ribbing. I'm pretty sure you can get away with a single skein of Mandala Bonus Bundle if you're making a short sleeved version of this sweater. It just didn't work out for the length of sleeve my grandma wanted for her sweater.

I was finally able to find another skein of this yarn after searching the last few months for it! I made a design decision to continue the stripes on the sleeves to match the body stripes.

Photos 1-3 were taken when I only had a single skein of this yarn, so the original left sleeve had a huge block of teal yarn.

Photo 4 was taken yesterday to show the progress I had made at that point. I ended up finishing that sleeve and got most of the way done with the other. So it's looking like I might finish tonight! 🥳 It's slightly shorter than my grandma would like but i think a little steam block and a quick was should loosen it a bit.

Mainly worked on my grandma's raglan this week and started yet another stash busting project (I'm being haunted by Pound of Love y'all)

I've been going through all my digital crochet patterns and trying to determine which ones I might actually make in the near future and what can be used as a stash-busters. So far there's a crossbody bag made from Red Heart AIO that's the in the running.

Though my current stash is small, so is my crafting corner. I've been incredibly thankful my family is keep me accountable about bring in new yarn before I've used my current stash.

My goals for this year is to selling some of my crocheted goods (they're taking up space), finish my WIPs, try out some new crochet techniques, and stay consistent with my crochet journaling.

I heard about Red Heart's newest line of all-in-one yarn and wanted to try out. So I did the fiscally responsible thing of using my yarn stash before impulse purchasing new yarn.

I made two squares that came out to ~5.5" inches unblocked using a 5mm hook following the pattern. I had to weave in ends in awkward places at round 3 of this pattern so I see why this yarn was made.

Trying out their heart motif pattern helped me determine if this yarn would even be worth purchasing. Ultimately, I've decided that this yarn wouldn't be a good fit for me

So it's been several WIP Wednesdays since I last posted this crochet WIP. Whoopsy!

I stopped working on it in mid-December, thinking I wouldn't have enough of the skein I had. Trying to search for another skein but with no luck. I had wanted to make a "gradient stripe" sweater but I would've needed another skein to continue the gray down into the sleeves and have enough for the extra long ribbing my grandma wants 😫

I know it's not a discontinued color-way but my region seems determined to sell the beige-y pink version of this yarn and no others. I have an idea where to find more, but I've decided to get as much done as possible before the cold months in my area are gone.

I have about 3 more rows to complete on the body before I start the ribbing. My goal is to all of the gray color on the rest of the body and ribbing then use the rest of the colors on the sleeves. Turquoise and Sage green are remaining unused colors of this project.

Yarn Composition: Worsted Weight 100% Cotton in the color-way Deep Turquoise Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 Stars. Not a bad novelty yarn, worth the price in my opinion. I'm in no rush to buy more for myself, but if someone gifted it to me I wouldn't be mad. Full thoughts below.

[Part One]

This week's progress has been slow. I took several days off from this project since my last update. My main goal is to crochet every other day for like 10 minutes, so I'm not too consumed by a project. I've managed to get a few rows done since last week.

The good news is that managed to hit the third color of the skein I'm using! 🥳 (can you spot where is changes color?) I was worried that it was too blue-gray for my grandma's taste but so far she has really liked the colors.

I think I have a few more rows to do before I can start separating the sleeves and the body. I plan to work on this sweater later today, but I wanted to share what I had saved so far.

Yes, I know it's not Wednesday, but let's not talk about that 😂 It's the thought that counts!

Hook size: 4.5mm for the ribbing and 5.75mm for the body and sleeves

I started making a sweater for my grandma on Monday. Trying to take this project slow and steady, so I'm probably going to post this for several WIP Wednesdays. I'm pretty proud of my progress so far.

I've only made this pattern once before using Caron Cloud Perfect Phasing so I am winging it a bit using Mandala Bonus Bundle. I'm debating getting another cake, but I'm going to wait until I reach the sleeves before purchasing another.

So far I've had to cut into the yarn to get more of the light gray yarn for the ribbing. This has resulted in a huge stripe of this cool blue-gray color. Thankfully my grandma likes these colors!

Notes for Future Self: The collar ribbing is 9 stitches wide. You'll might have to sew the collar down in half due to grandma's preferences.

In this last week, I made several items with the two scrubby yarns I got from the free pile at the laundromat. I'll write my thoughts about those yarns at a later date.

I also started and finished a stash-buster project I saved on Pinterest.
