We’ve even started purchasing materials and machinery which can take 6-8 weeks to get here due to size and cost of shipping but it’s happening and that’s the important thing, SO EXCITING! We are working like crazy to meet a desired launch date of early March but we will need some support, we are currently looking for some volunteers to help over January and February as well as reaching out to any businesses that understand the value that this project presents to the environment plus all local businesses and the community at large. Almost 1 year ago I set off on an incredible journey with @carolina_castaneda23 through the san Blas islands 🌴 Sadly when arriving in panama I lost all the amazing photos we took on the journey before getting a chance to save them somewhere. In a world where we waste less, we live, love and laugh more ❤️ the first book I ever read in Spanish was called “Los Cuatro Acuerdos” which in English translates to “The Four Agreements”, based on ancient Toltec wisdom that advocates freedom from self-limiting beliefs that may cause suffering and limitation in a person's life. These learning are from the first novel I ever read in Spanish “los cuatro acuerdos” which translates to “the four agreements” The book takes inspiration from a set of spiritual beliefs held by the ancient Toltec people to help readers transform their lives into a new experience of freedom, true happiness, and love. According to the author, everything a person does is based on agreements they have made with themselves, with others, with God, and with life itself. In these agreements, one may tell themselves who they are, how to behave, what is possible, and what is impossible. Some agreements that individuals create may not cause issues, but there are certain agreements that come from a place of fear and have the power to deplete one's emotional energy as well as diminish the self-worth of a person. The book states that these self-limiting agreements are what creates needless suffering. Ruiz also believes that to find personal joy, one must get rid of society-imposed and fear-based agreements that may subconsciously influence the behavior and mindset of the individual. Another basic premise of the book suggests that much of suffering is self-created and that most of the time, individuals have the ability to transform themselves and the negative thoughts they may have about situations occurring within their life. The author identifies sources of unhappiness in life and proposes four beneficial agreements that one can make with themself to improve their overall state of well-being. What an epic week it has been! With two of the closest people in my life right now celebrating their birth just a day apart we’ve been blessed with a week of best friends visiting, and a smorgasbord of unforgettable experiences in jaw dropping places. From making it out of double barrel waves, exploring on quad bikes, discovering stunning new swimming holes, scuba diving, catching my first ever tuna, sailing through paradise to snorkel with sharks and finishing up with a boat party that took me until today to recover 😂 this will be a week I will never forget. More than 8 million tons of plastic into the ocean each year, equal to dumping a garbage truck of plastic every minute. Plastic doesn’t just look ugly in the environment, IT KILLS! We are currently using the worlds resources approximately 1.8 times faster than the environment can reproduce it and in the case of plastic more than 1000 times faster than it can decompose back into the environment without damaging precious ecosystems and animals that our health and livelihood depends on. Just because it’s “on sale” it doesn’t mean you need it or should buy it. If you are one of those people who get suckered in by a “great deal” let me remind you of an even greater deal, THE DESTRUCTION OF THE VERY ENVIRONMENT THAT YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IS AT RISK DUE TO UNNECESSARY, UNCONSCIOUS, OVERCONSUMPTION. There are millions of people suffering from extreme poverty due to the current environment, not to mention the suffering of the environment, so before you go wasting your time and money buying more things, why not do something for the greater good, support a local small business NOT AMAZON! Help a friend in need, there’s plenty of them, support a charitable organisation that’s doing something good for society and or our environment, and for everyone’s sake, if you are going to spend your hard earned cash on a bit of retail therapy then please at least make sure you’re supporting eco friendly products and services. With governments restricting movement and the world economy increasing the gap between the rich and the pore, many who dreamed or planned to travel are now questioning if or when they might be able to travel again, as a passionate traveler I can’t emphasise enough how much one can learn about the world, different cultures and ways of living but in this time of uncertainty we must see this as a chance to reflect and travel within ourselves.
