#1 reason we decided to do the legal marriage thing honestly. We considered just doing a commitment ceremony so I could keep more of my disability and Medicaid but after the month SNAP got caught off I decided my now husband never once threw a fit and decided I don't get food that month. I'd rather not be dependent on anyone but at least with him I know what I'm getting myself into.
I have never had trouble resisting "puppy dog eyes" until I got my own dog. Another person's dog, I'm absolutely fine, that's their rules, I will happily follow them. My dog? Why he's my little baby and of course he deserves a nibble.
The thing about radical kindness (or any kindness, for that matter) is that there are going to be times when someone or something makes you regret it. There are going to be times when you show someone empathy and grace that they don't "deserve". There are going to be times when someone takes that kindness and uses it against you. The world doesn't magically transform into a perfect place when you decide to choose kindness and people will take advantage of it. People will continue to be shitty.
But the thing is...that's not a flaw of kindness. That's not a you problem. That's a them problem. People who are happy with themselves and their lives don't go out of their way to misuse someone's kindness or grace. The "normal" response to kindness or empathy is not to find a way to exploit it. People who are happy with themselves don't look for ways to hurt people for no reason. Kindness will never be the problem. No matter what some shitty person decides to do with it. It should go without saying not to be a doormat, yes. Don't allow people to treat you badly just for the sake of being kind. But also don't let shitty people make you bitter because of how they treated you when you were kind.
When doing chores, are you a "i need a 5 minute break every half hour or else my brain checks out" neurodivergent or a "i cant stop for any reason, even food/water/bathroom or else ill never finish the task" neurodivergent

personally I am of the opinion that vegans who are like “the way our food system currently works under capitalism on a large scale is exceptionally cruel to all animals including humans and is not sustainable, so I’m doing what I can to make the most ethical choices available to me about what I eat and encourage others to do the same” are generally very reasonable people who I agree with in spades. but vegans who seem to think human beings are not themselves animals who are ultimately also part of the food chain but instead some kind of other paternalistic higher entity that can never engage in ethical and sustainable hunting practices (and especially the fringe I’ve seen who think other carnivorous animal predators are also evil and need to be eliminated) are people I regard as foolish at best if not actively anti-indigenous and racist

"But they banned zionists not jews", they banned jewish organizations, who refused to say they disavowed israel. That's like asking a local Chinese diaspora group to disavow the CCP or they can't be at pride.
The reason why its antisemitic is because its treating jewish organizations as guilty until proven innocent. Its treating jewish organizations as somehow being responsible for a foreign government's actions. Jewish organizations have to say again and again that they do not support the Israeli government to be allowed to exist in public. Its an extra step that non jewish organizations do not face. That's the antisemitism of it all. No other group was forced to disavow israel to attend pride.
