Ok, I am not a very frequent user on tumblr. But this has got to stop. I know I have a lack of followers and that probably is a good thing because I have a lot of fire in me I am going to rain down upon this issue at hand. So feel free to read on if you are interested.

What it is, you probably already know. Recently an artist in the Steven Universe fandom has attempted suicide. She goes by the username Zamii and here is the thing, after reading up on the situation and what she has done, I personally don’t think it is right for these SJWs to cause her so much pain.

But of course this has a story to go with. So…Let me start from the beginning, my impression on tumblr at the time I joined in early 2012 is a community full of creative individuals. A place where cool and hip people shared works and talked about ideas and the like. It attracted me. I wanted to be like that too. But as the days went by I started to notice certain changes. This place became a nuthouse. It wasn’t in a bad way at first. People told jokes, memes were invented, but it still retained a taste of what tumblr originally was. It was still a place where the creatives can gather and socialise online, away from the cancer of Facebook. Then it suddenly got crazier. I recall it was around the time Femnazis took the stage. It started off as a good old fashioned fight for equal rights amongst the sexes. That was great. It meant progress for a better world. Gay rights, racial rights, I thought to myself, “Wow, this looks like more of an activist pool than anything” meanwhile the fandoms became more prominent. Anime, Dr Who, Sherlock, cool people. But if course with every fandom there are toxic people. But originally these people are left to their own devices. They have no power but the fact that they will troll posts from time to time.

However things started to get a little weird. A number of the users fighting for the rights of supposed oppressed groups are turning extreme. Feminism went from fighting for equal rights between men and women to the prosecution of men who have never done any wrong to a woman in his entire life. Gay rights and self identification between the queers turned into more of an RPG Class Selection than an actual thing one can write on paper. It was crazy. And like I said, there are good people fighting for rights on an equal ground out there, people like Emma Watson, a feminist I personally admire. These people who took it to an infuriating extreme didn’t realise that the fighting they have done has caused them to inherit the stereotypical traits of the people they are so openly against.

So here we come to the present day, where an artist who has no intention of hurting another’s feelings about his/her skin colour, hairstyle, weight being pushed to her absolute limit. It pains me to see that. Yes I get that people are standing up for what they believe in. Freedom of speech is a right, but the use of such has consequences one must face, be it the one who cast the stone or the one who receives the hit. You people are so enthusiastic about glorifying the fact that you shamed an artist who wanted nothing more than to share her work, you forgot the fact that she is being thrown into the very hell you dumb fucks try to avoid.

The world is not complicated if you remove all the terms you people decide to invent. Why do I say so? Well in life there are a few rules of the universe everyone must follow. Eat, sleep, drink, simple right? What about morals? Ten commandments? Fight for women/gay/black/asian/Latino rights or you are against them? NO. THERE IS ONLY ONE HARD RULE. DON’T BE AN ASSHOLE.

It IS SO SIMPLE. Yet a lot of these people do not get it. I have no tolerance for bullies. I know what it feels like to be slammed on Twitter, Facebook, in real life. I am not proud that I have some sort of depression in me. I attempted suicide twice. Once by drinking soap, another by stabbing my foot with a rusty nail. Both times I was driven to the point of hopelessness. I felt completely useless and because of that I know exactly how Zamii felt when she tried to take her own life. This shit is not funny. You Social Justice Rejects need to back the fuck off because I had enough and I am a very tolerant person. Zamii does not deserve this. Even the designer of the Steven Universe fandom stepped in to tell you people to shut the fuck up. Shame on the whole lot of you idiots. I have no respect for ignorant bullies who only care about their own world view and think what they do is a justification of what they believe. I am not even sorry. Because I need to speak from the heart. You fucks need to stop. I am an artist. I love to draw my own characters, I love to do fan art. I draw them in a way I like them and the way I see these characters. If you take offense ok it is cool, you are entitled to your right to not like something. What you are not entitled to, however, is creating a bunch of hate posts about how my one drawing is a complete offense to you and your fucked up ideals. I am Singaporean Chinese. And in Mandarin we have a saying “ 人在做，天在看” which means whatever you do, Heaven is watching. It means you will get what is coming if you decide to be a self entitled prick, sooner or later. I hope this gets somewhere. I am not sorry for being angry. I am angry because of an injustice that was brought upon a fellow artist. If you can get so offended at a person’s art then it tells me that you are weak. Never in my time as an artist have I come across an innocent drawing full of one’s passion, kill someone else due to an intentional edit. If it doesn’t threaten your livelihood like draining your food supply or destroying your organs physically, IT IS NOTHING.

Now with that being said I do understand that not everyone on tumblr is like that. In fact I met many interesting and funny people here too, as I did with all other social media sites. However there is a major problem with the culture here if there are such cases amongst people who try to stand against everything else they feel is inappropriate. It does not make them a hero. It makes them hypocrites.
