Raphael Colantonio and the original Dishonored devs started a stream series, revisiting the classic stealth-action game with old Arkane colleagues. They revealed cancelled ideas and unexpectedly defended loading screens. Turns out Arkane was pitched Thief 4 and Blade Runner, and had a wild plan to cut off Corvo's hand with the Outsider's Mark, leaving you powerless, or even controlling the severed limb 😱 FULL STORY: loading pauses aren't a flaw but a feature, helping you absorb the atmosphere and pacing. That cut-off hand became a basis for mechanics in Dishonored 2.
