According to the wiki: Actor David Henesy broke his ankle after slipping on a patch of ice outside the studios where the show was filmed, which explains why David is wearing a cast.

In show explanation: Jeb Hawkes is a dickhead who jumps out at children from behind bushes.

In other news, this scene is super adorable because it plays less like Julia, David, and Maggie and more like Grayson, David Henesy, and KLS.

Other than those two instances of pages being repeated in a seeming editing/printing error, the book was very good quality with nice art and a story that was easy enough to follow. I'm not sure how well it would work for someone who's not already passingly familiar with both the events of the show and Return to Collinwood, but that was already somewhat implied by the sales page.

It's set in "Present Day" but I'm not sure when exactly that's supposed to be. So I'm just going to say "2025" for the time being.

Collinwood of today sure is something. It feels like a very modern town. A black woman sheriff, modern shops, parts of Collinwood have been renovated, while Old House and other buildings have been torn down. People carry around smartphones. Carolyn has a laptop and posts videos of her paranormal studies online.

Which leads us to the setup of the story: Carolyn has invited three students to Collinwood, students who each have a strong psychic abilities. In return for her tutelage, she has asked something of them: that they help her summon Victoria Winters back to life in present day.

It's a very… small(?) story? That's not the right word. It's very small in scope, but it leaves a lot of doors open for further development. I would love to revisit these characters and plot strands in further graphic novels or an ongoing series or whatever.

Honestly, knowing what we do about the plans for the new iteration of the show, I kind of wonder if this is a setup piece, transitioning from the old into the new. Because I think it kind of works.

And another way in which it works, is that I don't think there's really anything that contradicts the BF audios at all? In fact, there's some character stuff in there that I think comes off the back of it, honestly. It's nice to see a Dark Shadows comic that actually adheres to the franchises established continuity for once, heh.
