a quick drawing to celebrate pride

seeing blatantly queer characters represented, and especially accepted, in a shonen manga was really surprising (amidst all that fan service, I didn’t have high hopes 😵‍💫 ). It’s one of the reasons I love dr stone so much.

Being a trans guy, I get very excited whenever trans characters are depicted, even if it’s just casual rep like Francois.

Now, like everyone else, I’m waiting to see if THAT stanxeno scene gets animated faithfully.

The tryhard overachiever in me who also would’ve really wanted to be part of the ship crew is like this rn:

He genuinely actually is ridiculously super competent and qualified and he wants so badly to be part of the moon crew and ofc his Entire Thing is that he wants everything, and gets it. The world’s greediest man. And that has never been challenged in the show until now!! And that was the title of the episode… (and not 全てが欲しい but 全てが欲しくて… augh kill me). But he is aware there is someone yet better, more deserving of this position… His selfish desire vs the objectively best option for humanity. And the thing is noone else seemingly realizes or cares!!! they’re all more than happy for ryusui to take the spot. He could easily just arigataaku accept it. Very juicy. I just ended up explaining the situation as if anyone reading this who has seen the ep didn’t already know but whatever 💀

This is so fucked up (/positive); some actually serious ryusui focus (and character focus in general) was unexpected but very welcome!!

I had a convo with my sister about this exact scene the other day cause it made me love him so much!!! I had very mixed feelings when he was first introduced, but as the story progresses you can see how even his seemingly selfish actions have positive outcomes for everyone else. He’s just such a caring person and I love it!!!! When he cried in front of Francois, I cried too. Cause come on!!! (That part also solidified to me how deep their relationship really was, for him to only cry in front of them.)
