Amethyst is the best cook of the three. She’s the only one who actively enjoys eating so she has the most experienced palate (in “Beach Party” she comments that the pizza “isn’t even good”) and in “Cheeseburger Backpack” she excitedly talks about the different ways they can cook the giant egg. Its just that she usually can’t be bothered to cook, so she doesn’t often do it. But on the rare occasions she does, it just blows people away

Follow up - sometimes when she’s cooking she accidentally burns the tips of her hair (because I don’t want to be the only one who does that haha), she thinks its funny though

(related to one of my Pearl headcanons) Amethyst will sometimes derail one of Pearl’s lectures by getting her to explain how something works instead. Amethyst will also sometimes get Pearl to explain something because she finds the white noise of Pearl explaining something to be soothing and good for falling sleep to.

Amethyst can get very uncomfortable with silence, it reminds her of the years of isolation in the Kindergarten (which even nature avoided, so it was completely empty). This is one of the reasons she never does anything about Pearl’s waterfall running off in her room, it creates constant noise (plus its a reminder that she’s not alone, since Pearl is right up there)

Related to that, one of the reasons she hoards things and is reluctant to throw anything out (even if its not hers) is because she had no things for the first years of her life. When she got introduced to the world beyond the Kindergarten, she started collecting anything interesting (which was pretty much everything), and gets anxious of the idea of getting rid of them because she be left with nothing again. She’s also uncomfortable in open spaces and likes the junk set up to feel like canyon walls.

Being a Quartz, Amethyst has a natural aggression and drive to fight, and thus a need for a constructive outlet (hence the wrestling in “Tiger Millionaire”)
