I love this.  It’s perfect.  One of my favorite TM scenes ever.  But my absolute favorite part of it begins right after he says “…represent our future together” and how it dawns on her that he is going to ask but how first he says “I want you to be my wife” and she is so stunned and touched that he said that and how she waits with bated breath for him to ask her to marry him.  And how he looks at her with the most serious eyes ever as he says this and asks her.  I love her realization that it happened - that he asked her and how it has taken her by such surprise that all she can manage is “okay”.  Then realizes that she needs to be absolutely sure that he knows her “okay” is actually a “yes!”.  Then I love that he was nervous and she was like “come on” and him declaring her “still a mystery”…. and then leaning into such a deep yet sweet kiss that shows pure love.  *thud*

So wonderfully said!! I agree with you, it’s so full of emotion, I love how he gets so serious and looks at her fixedly, I am sure his heart is thumping hard as he waits for her answer, he even doesn’t blink. And she’s so moved and accepts so beautifully, laughing and almost crying at a time. And then they look so blissful as they seal their desire to be husband and wife with this kiss. Can it have been done better? Absolutely not.

And they’re still sealing it when the camera pulls back and the scene fades! gotcha!

I also particularly love the line “I want you to be my wife” because during all of the other seasons of the show, “wife” in Jane’s case was always connected with sentences like “Red John killed my wife and daughter”. He never once used Angela’s given name on those occasions, but always “wife”. And especially combined with the gesture of giving Lisbon his old wedding band and connecting his past with meeting Lisbon and their future, this moment in which he says that he wants Lisbon to be his wife, we see that he’s really and truly moved on and ready to embrace a future in which the word “wife” means joy and happiness again, not death and Red John anymore. And it tells Lisbon that Angela’s “ghost” isn’t a part of their marriage. Jane will always keep her in her heart, just like Charlotte, but the position of wife is not occupied by Angela anymore - it’s Lisbon’s from now on. I had goosebumps when he said that.

So true. A great observation!!!

OMG, this is all bringing me to tears again!  All so true!  One of my favorite scenes of ALL TIME!
