   -Asriel's promise-

"Asriel?" Chara called out softly.

"I'm here Chara. I told you I will stay here all the time." Asriel said.

It was late at night, Asriel shared a room with Chara. They were teenagers and Chara was bed ridden from the disease. She had flowers that had sprouted out of her skin and stems seem to have forced their way around her spine making her have intense pain when she walks.

"...Asriel, you know what I miss the most about the surface? Running away and laying in a field staring up at the stars and falling asleep there. It was so calming...to run from all my problems and fears..." Chara said sniffling.

"Come on Chara...don't cry. Everything is going to be fine...Dad said Gaster is trying to make a cure..." Asriel said getting out of bed and grabs a paper towel turning the light on and wipes the blood off Chara's cheeks.

"Asriel, you heard Gaster when it first started. There is no cure. It is so rare to get the Lotus disease that he doesn't know if he can. Nothing seems to have worked yet...." Chara said as she sighed softly turning her head towards Asriel.

  Asriel frowned seeing a flower peeking out of her hair by her ear. He moved her hair carefully and sees the flower growing out of her ear. Is she going to become deaf next? "Ch-Chara is that a flower growing out of your ear?"

Chara turns her head to try and hide it again. "...y-yeah...its fine...Asriel...hey....promise me something..."

"...anything Chara." Asriel said touching her hand.

Chara gripped his hand tightly. "When I die...let me lie under the stars once more."

Asriel knew it could take forever to get her through the portal unless he took her soul into his own making him a god. He nods to her before squeezing her hand back tears rolling down his own cheek. "Sure Chara. I promise."

The night goes by quickly after the two get to sleep. The next morning, Asriel woke up and got up to wake Chara. He touched her arm and she was cold. His emerald eyes widened as he the soul floated by him and he takes it in his hand shaking as Chara's soul rests in his body.

"MOM!!!! DAD!!!! CHARA NO! CHARA!!" Asriel screamed and dropped to his knees by her bed side gripping her icy hand in his crying.

Toriel and Asgore ran into the room and Toriel gasped turning into Asgore crying. Asgore held Toriel tears running down his cheeks as well. Six years of caring and loving Chara she was a part of their family and it was a devisating loss.

The transfermation was painful as Chara's soul fuses with Asriels turning him into a god. He carried her body that night out of the barrier and lays her down in the field outside the small town at the base of the mountain. Some townsman on guard saw him and believed he killed the girl. Asriel was taking some of the lotus off her eyes to keep in memory of her.

The towns people grabbed their guns and started to fire them at Asriel. He refused to fight back not trying to cause any problems he retreated back towards the barrier but the humans followed and continued to shoot at him. Multiple bullets went through or got lodged inside him.

Chara winced as she gripped onto her arm groaning. She closed her eyes letting out a soft cry squeezing her arm trying to get the pain to stop and go away.

    "Another pain?" Asriel asked and frowned. "Mom! Chara is in pain again!"

    Toriel rushed in and to Chara's side hugging her. There was nothing she could do for Chara but love her.

    Within a few minutes it passed and Chara smiled hugging Toriel back. "Thanks mom." She said.

    That was just the beginning. After months the pain got more intense around her left eye. It felt like something was crawling' clawing and tried to push her eye out. She is taken to Gaster to be examined. Gaster is the royal scientist and doctor. After hours of pain and examinations a pink lotus had bloomed in the corner of her left eye blood ran down her cheek. She couldn't see out of that eye anymore. After another couple months that eye was completely covered by the pink lotus flowers.

    Chara has been infected by the lotus disease a rare and painful disease that ends in death. There is no cure for this disease since it is so rare there is never enough test subjects to study for a cure. King Asgore ordered Gaster to create a cure and save Chara's life.

  Gaster put his soul research and other projects aside while he made up tests and research on the disease using Chara the best he could to test cures on her. He couldnt do much with Chara because he had to wait days for the previous attempt to flush out of her systems.

   -The following years-

   Ever cure Gaster created never worked and caused crazy side effects. Day after day, he was working late into the nights trying to save Asgore's daughter. Even worse news was the disease was spreading and getting worse. Gaster had estimated her time to live and his time frame to cure her. Both their times were ticking. But Chara struggled on with DETERMINATION to stay forever with her new family.

  More flowers continued to grow out of that socket though. By the time she was 13 her fourth year of being in the underground. She suffered pain day after day,  Chara had a perfect family now that loved her and cared for her and she never wanted to lose them. Every night (somrtimes while crying blood) she would pray to any god that would listen hoping to be healed.

     157th visit to Gaster and he was no closer to stopping or curing the disease. Chara was visibly getting worse it hurt to move at times and her DETERMINATION was fading in her soul. She stopped going out unless taking her weekly trip to Gaster's lab. Gaster could see it in her body language she was struggling to hold on.

Long ago two species rules over the earth: monsters and humans. Humans were fearful of monsters because of their abilities.

Soon humans started using their weapons against monsters and a war broke out. Eventually the monsters were forced underground and sealed away by the power of seven, seven human children were sacrificed to lock the monsters under mount ebott with a barrier. It will take seven human souls to break it as well.

Stumbling up the side of Mount Ebott, a black haired girl just wanted to disappear from the world and heard a rumor those who climb up the mountain never return. A hand grips over her chest pushing her shirt some blood soaking through from a stab wound. Tripping over a rock she fell into a hole letting out a scream before hitting a bed of lotus flowers that lay under the hole on her back. Laying there the air had escaped her as she tried to retrieve it before she finally breathed in. Sitting up she looked up at the hole, it is amazing she is still alive. Getting up to her feet looking around the area she frowned.

"I am going to die here..." She muttered before walking forward.

Getting to the ruins, she came across an older goat female monster who noticed the weakened condition of the human and goes over to help her. The blood loss was becoming too much. Toriel took the female human home and sewn the stab wound shut and put some healing lotus remedy on it letting her rest.

The human woke up a few hours later to a little goat boy about the same age as her staring. She stared at him before he ran off coming back with the older goat woman. The human tried to sit up but groaned softly.

"Don't move, my child. I am Toriel and you were stabbed..." The older goat explained touching the human's shoulder to keep her laying down.

"...y-yeah..." The human girl looks up towards Toriel. "I am Chara..." She said softly relaxing. "...y-you care about me?"
