There are a few different methods for achieving a jogless join when knitting in the round, and they all share the same basic principle: casting on an extra stitch and then combining it with the first cast-on stitch.

Some knitters knit these two stitches together, others pass the extra stitch over the first cast-on stitch. My favourite method, however, is the reverse: passing the first cast-on stitch over the extra stitch. 👉 This way all the strands along the lower edge end up pointing in the same direction 🧶

How do you make a jogless purl ridge when knitting in the round? 🧶 🧶 🧶

Before starting your purl round, slip the last stitch of the previous round back to left needle, make a reverse yarn over and slip the stitch back to the right needle.

When I join a new colour, I like to weave in the end right away. I don’t mind weaving in ends, but on projects with lots of them, it helps to get a few out of the way early 😅

双面三异绣 shuāng miàn sān yì xiù  is a new genre of suzhou double-sided embroidery. It is done on both sides, but the patterns, stitches and colors are different, hence the name 双面三异绣( literally double-sided triple difference embroidery). It enables the viewer to appreciate the image of traditional chinese embroidery art with different patterns, stitches and colors on one embroidery.

It could be more complicated, idk, I couldn’t really find tutorials for it, but that’s how I do my double sided embroideries. it doesn’t look as good but here’s how the couching method looks when it’s done!

Grafting in garter stitch

Grafting in garter stitch is actually easier than in stocking stitch, since you only repeat 2 motions instead of 4.

🧶 Enter the stitch on the front needle knitwise and slip it off, enter the next stitch purlwise. Enter the stitch on the back needle knitwise and slip it off, enter the next stitch on the back needle purlwise. 🧶 Repeat. Think: knit(wise) off, purl(wise).
