IPhone 6 Plus data recovery case. History: The device was mailed in for data recovery due to no power after a screen repair. . Evaluation: Tested battery 🔋 - Low but still activated - Check current draw from DC Power Supply.. showed normal behavior before prompt to boot - Check cuerremt draw after prompt to boot and behavior was abnormal. ... Upon visual microscope inspection 🧐 I noticed copper rings at the bottom of each screw hole for the Screen LCD connectors. . Plan of action: Check circuit lines under the screw holes 🕳 to see if the screw has caused any severed data lines that’s preventing the device from powering in and booting. I need to re evaluate the bottom layer... this one was punch hard where the ram top layer had a crack in it. ... the CPU looked good to me and I didn’t see any crack... however who knows what the eye can’t see but from the history of the damages and with ram cracked idk. Looks like toilet water got to this Moto Z Driod. ... . When circuit boards arrive looking like this.. it shouldn’t be fixed for the phone sake. ... For Data recovery only!! ... several circuit lines had shorted capacitors which is typical with liquid damaged devices... I’m happy that most of the IC’s are under-filled... by being under-filled they are sealed and no minerals from the liquid could get underneath to disturb the BGA’s. ... we don’t want issues with contaminated balls if you know what I mean. ... otherwise the only way to know for sure is to lift them and that’s more work. .. I did enough just to get this think booted up... upon boot, I discovered that the touch circuit is out. ... instead of messing around with it and risking it possibly bot powering back in trying to mess with fixing touch, I used the external USB dongle keyboard to control the device... navigated to USB debugging to enable it.... got to Bluetooth and connected a Bluetooth keyboard and freed up the USBC port so we can connect to PC and dump the data... To avoid messing with this small Logic Eeprom IC and risking the damages that could happen or even accidentally blowing it away and losing it. .... I would normally use my JC programmer to read the data and than burn it to the new donor host logic board. .. however in this case I’m not sure why it did not work with the programmer. ... upon Power it boot looped.. so I did an ITunes Update to see what error I throws at me and I got Error 9. ... typically When I see error 9 it’s a big chance that it has something to do with Logic Eeprom. ... so I carefully did the transplant and sure enough ... I can no longer trust my JC programmer. .. Maybe I need to update it. ... IDK 🤷🏻‍♂️. .. I confirm the direction of troubleshooting by using my multi meter and measured the test pad under the port, pointed out in one of the photos.
