I LOVE THESE LITTLE NINJAS :D !! (Keep reading for close ups + a special secret study)
Artrade for @/baelsker!!!
u don't like kitty and puppy? π meow? π bark?
Beyond parody that conservatives see a study saying "perhaps we should provide animal companionship to college kids?" and immediately respond with "NOOO PUNISH THEM! HURT THEM! SLAP THEM!"
Their whole ideology is built on normalized cruelty to the point that having cats give college kids some semblance of companionship and affection seems like a radical act that they cannot abide. Like, jesus christ. If you saw a kid asking their parents for a pet and the parents said they should get a slap instead so they don't turn into a "beta", you would not think that's okay or normal. You'd probably recognize pretty quickly that that is abuse and you'd probably call CPS on those parents if you could.
The "I want to hurt people, especially vulnerable people" side of the political spectrum
Republicans claim to be tough on crime. But Republicans also balked at a study that showed that giving prisoners cats greatly reduced recidivism.
Republicans whined that prisoners were being rewarded, while ignoring that many of these men were given companionship and responsibility. According to one man in the study (and I'm paraphrasing), "I can't do anything bad to increase my sentence. I need to keep my nose clean so I can provide my cat with a good home. If I get arrested, they'll take him away and he not end up with a family who loves him." Prisoners were avoiding crimes for their cats, but Republicans considered cats a reward instead.
They want people to suffer.
The cruelty is the point.
The cruelty is the point.
It's always the point for them.
My new found obsession with herbal teas has led me down a rabbit hole of learning about how different plants can positively affect the human body. It bothers me that there are people who chalk up herbal remedies as "wife's tales" when many of them have been scientifically tested to work. Many herbs are loaded with vitamin complexes, anti-oxidants, and anti-inflammatory agents that improve the function of various bodily systems. That's why people started consuming them in the first place thousands of years ago. That doesn't mean these plants should replace all your medications, but they're still there to help you feel better.
I'm at a place in my life where I'm highly invested in making the shell I'm contained in healthier in any little way that I can. That's why I'm expanding my herb garden and also starting a vegetable garden, too. I want to surround myself with good things that are healthful for me instead of destructive. I think that we owe it to ourselves to try and take care of our bodies - we won't have them forever. That doesn't mean striving for perfection, it just means making yourself a cup of elderberry tea because you know your immune system could use a boost every now and then...plus elderberry tea is delicious. It's a win/win in my book.

Cute teabag and teacup.
Lemon and Ginger Tea
Tea for today! πGreens and Rosesπ
Preparation: Heat a Mug of water in the Microwave for 2 minutes. Careful it will be hot. Put your tea into either a tea ball or steeping sacks. Steep the tea for 2-3 minutes. Remove the tea. Add any sugar, honey, milk you want. Done
Tasting: This tea tastes good. It tastes like leaves and nature. It tastes like frolicking in a meadow. This tea is exactly what you expect when someone says leaf juice but that doesn't mean it's bad. It's tea and pretty good.
Rating: 6/10
Tea time
Lemon Iced Tea
Made in honor of my dad, who helped me get into dice making! His favorite way to drink tea is with two sugars and a lemon slice :)
He said this set is his favorite so far~

Look what came in the mail today! It's my tea πππ
Over the next couple days I shall be trying all this tea. I'm looking forward to it! Which should I try first?
I've got tea, a kitten, and anime. What more could you want?
Tea for today πNaynay's Chai teaπ my Naynay (Grandmother) made me a cup of her fabulous Chai tea. I have no idea what's in this tea but it is divine. It perfectly encapsulates sweet and spicy. The ginger leaves such a strong taste that coats my entire mouth. This is amazing tea. I'll have to ask her for the recipe one day and post it here. 10/10
The Tea for today. π Matcha once again. This is the tea that I always buy when I go to the store. It's my favorite brand of Green Tea Matcha. Not including actual Matcha of course. Time for the taste test!π
This tea is definitely an acquired taste. The first sip can be really surprising and make you not like the tea. Although after taking a few more sips the other flavours start to take root. The first thing you might notice is that it tastes a bit like raisins. Which can be good or bad depending on whether you like raisins. I personally am not a fan of raisins but I do really like Hibiscus teas so I was able to tolerate the raisin taste to get to the hibiscus taste. This tea was pretty alright. 6/10

The Tea for today. π Summer Pie. I have no idea what to expect from this tea. It's a fruit tea though and it has Hibiscus Petals. I'm excited to find out. Time for the taste test!π
The first difference is that this is black tea while the other lemon ginger is an herbal tea. The taste between them is very different. This tea of course has that slight bitterness that comes with being a black tea. It also just tastes entirely like ginger. There isn't a single sip I've taken that encompasses lemon in the slightest. I actually really enjoy it. I believe I've talked about my love of ginger previously. 7/10
