if you're having trouble sleeping the best you can do is put a bright object close to your face and look at it for at least 30 minutes. if that doesn't work you can close your eyes but make sure to think really hard about a bunch of bullshit

i literally love saying "ON IT BOSS!!!!!" whenever someone asks me to do something like i'm some sort of henchman. it doesn't matter if they're my boss or not for real even because in the moment they are, and whatever they requested of me i'm on it

It's nuts how common it is to not allow children to be angry, even (especially) in households where adults are angry all the time. As a child I knew my own anger was unacceptable--not just expressing it outwardly but feeling it at all. So now as an adult my immediate reaction to my own anger is often to feel guilt instead of like. Noticing when someone is being rude or unfair or my boundaries are being violated or whatever. fucked up.

It is nearly impossible to heal without forgiving yourself for 'wasting time'. The times you grieved in your pain are not wasted, you were simply doing everything you can to survive. Sometimes it can take a long time before you start making progressing to getting better but that doesn't mean your time now is wasted. The more you keep trying, the more peace you allow yourself, the easier it'll become to keep getting up and trying again. Recovery is painful, but that's simply because you will end up stronger than anyone could ever imagine when you go through it.
