Fuck Yeah Erica Hahn

I really, really do. She makes me laugh. I love her particular kind of meanness. I love her bone dry sarcasm. I just love her.

see she calls mark out on him sexually harassing her, asking her out all the time when she clearly isn’t interested in him and he doesn’t get the fucking hint cos he’s a “man whore” “lol so funny” this wouldn’t be made light of if he were a woman but ANYWAY

i actually get now why she gave cristina such a hard time. like think of it from erica hahn’s perspective she probably thought that so far in her career cristina had just got by on the easy ride cos she dated her superiors, colin marlow and then burke. so i think she was just testing cristina to see if she actually wanted to fight for cardio and not just to things the easy way.

and she plays as good as the guy attendings and doesn’t let people shut her down just cos she’s a woman and yes she has an annoying voice but that’s not her fault. and tbh if you put me on a tv show my voice would pretty much gross you out as well and series 4 pretty much sucked anyway but we shouldn’t blame erica for that

so yes, erica hahn bitches, the most hated character in the fanbase (which i still don’t understand because doesn’t anyone remember Preston-i-will-abuse-my-position-of-authority-whenever-you-don’t-fulfill-my-needs-as -your-boyfriend-Burke)

She was a very successful surgeon in an incredibly misogynistic field. Just look at way Burke treated her when we were introduced to the character. He immediately let everyone know that she was second best to him.

She came in the door letting all of her colleagues (especially the men) know that she took no one’s crap and would be treated as an equal. Strong ass women who speak their mind ftw!

She fought for her patient. Not for any personal gain but because he was next in line for a heart and he deserved it. She was turned into the bad guy because we were supposed to feel bad for Izzie and her blatant malpractice. Izzie stole a heart from Erica’s patient but Erica is the villain? Okay.

She treats Christina harsher than all of the other people she was teaching. She admitted that she saw herself in Christina and acted accordingly. It can also be hypothesized that Erica was only harsh because she believed in Christina’s abilities and was trying to push her to stop searching for validation and believing in herself. Too bad they let Erica go before we could find out.

She told Callie that she couldn’t be kind of a lesbian which is true as far as I know. Callie being bisexual doesn’t make her kinda gay/kinda straight, it makes her bisexual. Treating bisexuality as x% gay versus x% straight is very problematic. Or at least that’s what bi advocates have told me.

Erica left because Callie cheated on her with Mark and because she was angry at the fact that Izzie was not reprimanded for her actions. Two men needlessly died because of Izzie’s wrong doing and any person with any sense of decency would agree that at the very least Izzie’s license should have been taken as well as the hospital going under investigation for their negligence.

So what am I gonna do with my time?
