I just realized one of the reasons Alex Karev was so good with Meredith’s mother alllllll the way back in Season 2 of Grey’s Anatomy was due to his experience with his schizophrenic mother.

Ellis haunts the narrative like a banshee: loud, obvious, clearly observable. A constant, haunting presence over Meredith's shoulder and a reminder of her mortality every step she takes as dread fills her chest because no matter what she does she will inevitably succumb to the same fate.
Bizzy haunts the narrative like a wraith: unseen and unheard but constantly felt. Her presence unnoticed by those around her except Addison, who sees her everywhere as she infects everything in Addison's life with a grievous melancholy that reminds her she will never, no matter how hard she tries, be free.

In Grey's anatomy Ellis says "the carousel keeps spinning" and urges Meredith to swallow her pain and the lump in her throat 'cause there's no way out.
And in Merry Go Round, BTS can't also get out of this merry go round that life is and have to endure the pain of it.
The difference is Ellis never got past that carousel imagery of life, and she died inflicting pain and a sense of inferiotity to Meredith. And now, Meredith has to unlearn everything that she put her through. She has to find herself and that maybe she can enjoy this merry go round, that she can go past it, because that can't be all life is about. BTS in another hand, have decided to eat life wholy in retaliation, and it is seen through like animals and NORMAL lyrics.
