She had just finished writing the first draft of The Bed Song, but at the time, it was not named. She proudly tweeted that this new song was sadder, and even possibly better, than Trout Heart Replica, which at the time was the newest and saddest song in AFP’s catalog (or at least live shows). This new song, the song “sadder than Trout Heart” as I liked to call it then, wasn’t performed live for the first time until the following June at a private, secret show Amanda held in Boston where admittance was given away on Twitter, and entry to the show was free + pay what you can with a basket at the door. I share this throwback today, not only in honor of the new music video for The Bed Song, but with the video comes the release of the track in its brand new re-recorded version, and my, how far has this song come.
