He has ever been a slave to curiosity, a fact that, upon occasion, has led to some rather... troubling incidents throughout his life. Yet it is something he cannot help, a vice he cannot control, and the source of his current curiosity is far too tempting a target to ignore. She, who claimed the favour of his Scribe, who wields a portion of his power. She, who had answered his questions and broken the seal that allowed his Three Pillars to be free once more.
Oh, yes. He was very curious about her.
He has watched her for some time, getting steadily closer and closer in small increments until he can be sure she has noticed. It didn't take her long to spot him, perhaps a little quicker than even he had anticipated - she is certainly good at what she does. Well, that is to be expected. She was clever enough to crack his code, after all. So, it is no surprise to him when she at last addresses him. "I was led to believe those within your line of business do not deal in assumptions." A small grin of his own is offered in turn. "What makes you think I wished to be discrete?"
Though a part of him wishes to, he does not turn to face her directly. He remains at her back, arms folding across his chest as he stands in the middle of the market - standing as tall as he does, it would be hard not to spot him. He is at least a head and shoulders above the majority of the crowd. "But I am curious - what tells you I am not with the Eremites?"
He certainly looks the part, through no direct intention of his own. This was simply the vessel offered up to him, the first to sit upon his throne and deliver their soul to the Golden Slumber. But, of course, who else would it have been? Certainly not those rainforest dwellers, the followers of Kusanali. But, he suspects, his behaviour is perhaps not quite up to scratch. After all... it has been thousands of years since he last walked amongst the humans. The world has moved on without him.
