woke up still bugged by what happened yesterday, so let me say one last thing about Ferran’s hat.

in few words, everything I think about it can be summarized with this post I made some time ago ⬆️

I honestly don’t think Ferran is a bad person, nor that he actively wanted to support any right-wing idea with that hat. Yet, at the end of the day he is a white, straight, rich and privileged man and he will act like it. I don’t think he really cares about politics, and he probably genuinely thought it was just a silly joke and wordplay.

it's obvious this behaviour bothers me, because as a "normal person" (and even more as a bi young woman) I live everyday on my skin how politics can affect my life and the one of people around me.

the second thing that bothered me is that Ferran has showed many times in the past that he has a good heart, but he is still stupid enough to not think (or care) about how his actions are perceived by people, especially now that the spotlight is on him.

I've never idolized a famous person, even less a footballer, and I’m old enough to know better than doing so, but children and teens may not have the same wisdom yet, so it’s easy for them to look up at him like he is this hero that can't do anything wrong. Not to even think about grown ass adults that will use this to promote their shitty idea and propaganda.

where do I want to go with this rant? I don't really know, I'm still his fan, but it's just so tiring to being constantly reminded that almost anything is impossible to enjoy freely if you are a not a white, straight, man

Think about how much of your time is spent looking at ads. "Download ublock" yeah I know, I have. But that doesn't change that the world is covered with endless advertising. Imagine never seeing that again. How much better our lives would be.

it pisses me off when people are misscharacterizing introverts as being „nonchalant“ OR CALL THEM AUTISTIC because they don’t seem as emotional as others, look like they dgaf or seem „arrogant“.

Olisé visibly (based on videos online okay i don’t know him personally obviously i wish) gets all nervous and shy when he has to give speeches or interviews and it reminds me of my time at school when I had to give presentations or got forced to raise my fucking hand.

This literally really has nothing to do with being nonchalant. „He should drop the nonchalant gimmick“ broooo 😭😭😭😭

At some point people get drained by social interaction and it’s just more visible in introverts.

it really pisses me off when adults sit there and drill it into kids’ heads that their youth is fleeting and tell them things like “enjoy your childhood while it lasts because this is the best it’s gonna get”. why are you telling children that adulthood is the worst thing they can experience? seriously what the fuck is wrong with you, why are you trying to make them feel like growing up is a fate worse than death? trying to convince them their life is over before it even begins? i’m tired of that shit. because tell my why my 12 year old cousin told me when she turns 30 she’ll be so depressed she’s just gonna cry all the time. what the fuck. kids don’t need to hear that their already stressful and overwhelming lives are never going to get better, that the abuse and lack of autonomy they face is apparently the highlight of their lives. they need to hear about adults who are happy to be alive and happy to have made it to their age. they need to know that growing up rules, it’s a gift and life does not have to suck for them, that they have a future that’s worth sticking around for. this rhetoric is so damaging mentally and i’m about to start hitting the adults who parrot it. i’m sorry you hate your life but you don’t get to dump your issues on these kids. don’t piss me off and leave these babies alone!
