friends? best friends?

i've been a lifelong but inconsistent culer. this blog will hopefully motivate me to fix that. i mainly support fc barcelona (men's and women's) and bayern munich (men's). this blog will mostly be football, but i also support lando norris (f1), jannik sinner and carlos alcaraz (tennis).

Hiii! I know you’re also a Lando Norris fan so I feel like you can understand me when I say this whole Ferran situation feels like being a Lando fan back in 2024 and even now tbh. Yes we can criticize him for not taking politics seriously and following #journalist but idk if it’s me just being delusional and giving grace but like I feel like people are taking too far to the point where people are starting to send threats and mock his mental health struggles.

i think there's a line between criticising someone in a position of influence for how they choose to use it, and making personal/hateful attacks. ferran's actions are a lot more reprehensible than lando's imo (correct me if i'm wrong but all lando said was that trump was someone "you have to respect" which i think was p neutral take given that he was mcl's guest) but criticism isn't the same as making threats or mocking someone's mental health struggles.

while i don't feel comfortable judging how someone who's been harmed by maga/vox chooses to retaliate against the support ferran has (intentionally or unintentionally) given them, i don't think ur being delusional in feeling like some people are treating this as a "gotcha" moment to justify their prev hatred for him than calling out the impact of his actions.

Why would Ferran want to to to PSG which is oiterally in another country when he loves both FC Barça and Spain? I know peopoe choose whatever team is more convenient for their career, but I doubt football players at that level (who already make a lot of money) prioritize making a little bit more over their comfort

choosing a different team for your career isn't just about the money. ferran's main reasoning about going to psg is that he doesn't feel supported by barca anymore be that due to the hate from fans that impacted his mental health, them chasing julian alvarez and delaying his contract renewal or because luis enrique's coaching style would be a better fit for him than hansi flick's. the salary he's getting ties into that - when you have new players like gordon and adeyemi getting paid more than ferran who was supposed to follow lewandowski as the starting striker - it can contribute to him feeling that barca just doesn't value him.
