he chugs milk like it's his job, until his tummy hurts and he starts feeling ill. for months. and months.

and finally john's like, "hey, buddy. what the hell? you've got some new school curriculum about strong bones or something?"

and dean, around a gas-station plastic bottle of skim milk rolls his eyes like "no, daddy. i'm getting ready."

of course john, still kind of amused, is like "oh yeah? for what?"

and dean, reaching over to little sammy on the bench seat of the impala is like, "to feed sammy. i didn't have any milk in me like mommies are s'posed to, but it's gotta be stored up by now, right?"

( My goodness, he felt ill.)

So he stomps off, calling his Daddy a big far liar, then what else can he do? And with John gone, a few hours later, an unreadable expression on his face, his last warning and sign of love being " There is dinner on the table", then he is gone and Dean tries it again. Holds his shirt up but small little Sammy only giggle and smiles, grabbing, trying to hold his face but never going for one of his nipples ( Even when he felt so full with milk he could burst, could explode)

He tries it for several weeks, months god even when Sammy start to scream because of his first teeth showing.

( His dad has to lie, he lies, lies, lies. It is his biggest talent, the one that makes sure they survive)

Dean only stops when Sammy finally does take his nipple; he bites down so hard, Sammy's first taste of blood is his brothers.

And that too, can be milk right? That too can be special.
