so, there's been a controversy about Michael and Ashley having to been laughing at a word because it was close to a racial slur 7 years ago, both VAs apologized for it and even admitted that it's not something to laugh about just because it was close to one.
Unfortunately though, this controversy just exposed a major racist side from the fandom where people thinks it's okay to say a racial slur and claiming that "It's a nothingburger" and that "people are just being sensitive over a 'word'" (that 'word' in question having a racial history behind it, mind you) despite the fact that Michael had said he's heavily against it and not to mention, the fandom is also forcing black people to forgive them when it's literally their choices if they want to or not and it doesn't help that the people that does this are white people themselves. Some black people did forgive them though while the rest refuse to, understandably so.
However, people are suddenly starting to digging more of their past wrongdoings like that Anne frank x Goku video that Michael used to be a part of and Gooseworx back then used to be a fan of Shadman (who is a major pedophile that drew porn of REAL children and is a neo-nazi, he became a violent drug addict and was arrested for a deadly weapon assault) and many other things, apparently someone said she deleted a tweet where she joked about being racist which was a horrible timing. And not just that, they even now are doing the same thing to other VAs like Sean Chiplock, i don't like the guy much knowing the fact that he refused to apology for that earthquake joke back then but bro, if they really wanted to find a way to call him out, they could have just tried to do enough research, him being a "groomer" was already debunked like 2-3 (i don't remember) years ago by Casper and the callout post about it was deleted because of that (and because they spoke over Casper, i'm surprised he stayed friends with them after that).
When people knew about this, they felt that it's not doing "any justice" (if that's the correct word) but rather people doing it for the sake of cancel culture and honestly, now that i think about it, i guess i can understand why they feel this way.
I mean, yeah, learning that it's not the first time they fuck up that bad is horrible to know. Ngl, i'm surprised they didn't even bother deleting all of their old tweets that contained something like racist jokes.
I'm curious about your thoughts on it.
It is a whole dumpster fire and created a domino effect. The reason why it happened in the first place is because of a user in the livestream. Their username had nega in it, causing a brief confusion in the livestream as many people thought Ashley said the n word. If it was only a misunderstanding then I would understand. But it didn’t stay that way.
Caytlin should also be held responsible for making the shirt. Their laughters went on for so long, it’s crazy. Michael and Ashley shouldn’t have said it, let alone repeat it multiple times especially when they were well aware of how it sounded aloud.
Gooseworx was also in the livestream chat and contributed to the nega joke. It’s also very disappointing that many people are weaponizing black people who think it’s a nothing burger against other black individuals who feel hurt by the situation, forcing them to accept Ashley and Michael’s apologies. When in reality, they aren’t obligated to accept it.
It’s the bare minimum but I am glad that Ashley kept the livestream up. As for Gooseworx, she has a lot to address. I think it’s in her best interest to clear the air and apologize for her old tweets. If she doesn’t then these 2021 and 2022 tweets are the closest thing to seeing her thought process regarding her edgy jokes.
When it comes to her humor, Gooseworx should find a decent middle ground. She isn’t a fan of Shadman, it’s her doing tasteless shock humor. I feel deleting the racism related tweets beforehand wouldn’t change the situation. Michael Kovach also addressed his past VA work. Do whatever you want with that information.
