Heard some important information on Twitter today, and thought I’d post it here for anyone who may not have heard it. This is actually a thing, devised by human rights organisation called Karma Nirvana.

“Attempted to take a cute video of my cats licking each other, and then this happened…” 

me *internally*: because i have deeply rooted emotional issues and a debilitating fear that im not good enough for anything

Me: “Hey there’s this great new type of animal you might be interested in:”

Someone: “I want a dog but I don’t ever want to take it for walks or exercise it very much or let it outside and I want it to be fine with being left alone for longer periods of time and also never bark.”

Me:

Someone: “I want a cat or dog but I want to only feed it a vegan diet.”

Me:

Someone: “I want to have a pet but I basically never want to interact with it.”

Me:

Someone: “I want to get my kid a cute pet for Easter/Christmas!”

Me:

‘…My school is older than your entire town.’

‘Sorry, you think *how far* is okay to travel for a shopping trip?’

“All right, it’s going to be a long bus ride, so make sure you’re prepared for that.”

We all brace ourselves.  A long bus ride?  How long?  We’re Americans; a long bus ride for us is a minimum of six hours with the double digits perfectly plausible.  We can handle a twelve hour bus ride as long as we get a bathroom break.

The answer.  “Two hours.”
