if you don’t mind Me Asking, will there be a Royalty Au?
By Royalty AU I assume you mean just a Royal family or Kingdom AU? If I misunderstood the ask let me know, just comment or ask again with more clarification and I will be more than happy to answer!
Most of my AU’s are centered around MK, I have three AU’s where he starts out as a Prince.
Crowned Prince, Gilded Cage, And an AU I have yet to name (Or that I hate the old name of)
And I will go more in-depth about these AUs quickly
Crowned Prince—takes place 500+ years or so after the JTTW. With Wukong being retired on his mountain, and just being a ‘king’ to his lil monkey subjects. Mk is still woken up early like in canon but is NOT removed from the mountain. So he is raised by Wukong. Which makes MK the heir/prince, and Wukong’s successor in a way.
Unnamed—Takes place during Wukong’s imprisonment of 500 years, OR during the JTTW. What’s important is Wukong is absent from Mount Huaguo, and Mac is still alive and protecting the mountain. Like all my other CYCLE AUs it centers around Mk being woken up from his stone. In this AU he is woken up EXTRA early. Before Mount Huaguo is burned. MK is raised by Wukong’s Marshals and Generals (AND Macaque) as heir and crowned Prince of the mountain. They all just assume MK is Wukong’s actual kid since he is born from the stone as well. He is raised and trained by the troop in a time of hardship, Hunters/poachers a constant threat, the Celestials/Heaven eventually sending their army (Because Macaque is there and still technically part of the rebellion, and just because it was Wukong’s Kingdom probably)
Gilded Cage—This AU is not a Cycle AU it takes place a couple decades or a single century after the JTTW. It is canon divergent and has some significant changes. Such as Macaque is not dead, the mountain does not get burned, the hunters/Poachers disposed of. And after the journey to the west Wukong’s circlet is not removed. Even a few other characters receive circlets. This one is the closest to a Royalty AU I think, as its actually involved in politics (sort of) with a growing kingdom and subjects. This one I allowed myself to have more creative freedom. So its a bit different from my normal Alternate Universes
I have so much I could say about my Gilded Cage AU, ive been brainstorming and its been around since 2023 I just haven’t let it develop past my initial sketches and doodles 3 years ago.
All of these AU’s don’t have too much content yet. I am currently TRYING to write a fanfic for my Guilded Cage AU but I am NOT a writer so its rough. Ill make a post about it eventually
