This post talks about a new DM feature in youtube. What it fails to mention is that as part of this new feature is that when you send someone a link to a video, and they open it in the youtube app, they will see who sent them the link. Specifically, your channel name.

If your google account name is your real name, so is your channel name by default.

This means the new default behavior is that everyone you send a youtube link to will see your full name if they open it in the mobile app.

To turn this off:

Go to your youtube app settings

Go to Privacy

Turn off "Channel visibility for shared links"

the reason i find genderbending to be such a fun and interesting challenge is because, if you actually want to be good at it and put thought into it, you have to really consider the character’s canon gender expression and think about what it means to them and how it reflects in their outward appearance and presentation.

is this male character buff because he likes to work out / be strong, or does he aspire to achieve conventional heteronormative male beauty?

is this female character a tomboy because she likes to express herself in a more masculine way, or is she doing it to fight gender norms?

the answers to those questions should produce very different designs!

this website loves to say that gender is a spectrum, but sometimes i genuinely wonder if people actually understand what that means. 

Assad has talked about this and he mentioned that he doesn’t care too much about how it’s pronounced. iirc he mentioned it’s because there are two ways that people typically pronounce his name, and they’re both correct.

The “As-saad” pronunciation is the most common, and it’s also the original Arabic pronunciation.

However, there’s also the “Ahs-sud” pronunciation which is the one Assad’s mentioned his family/friends use. This one is more common with Desis and not as commonly used. (Also, not all Desis use this pronunciation)

This phenomenon isn’t uncommon, you’ll find similar differences with names like Hassan (“Has-aan” vs. “Huh-sun”) (This was the example Assad used as well), Malik (“Maa-lik” vs. “Mal-ik”), or, not the same case but a similar one with the name Rashid (“Raa-shed” vs. “Ra-sheed”) (the latter two examples being alternately used in IWTV as well).
