i'm brazilian and i can confirm this is entirely correct. if you gave me like say, 200 USD, that would be enough for me to pay for my rent and groceries and meds for the month and then some, it's insane. but it also goes the other way around, like with the game pricing example. since so many products we get here are imported, a lot of especially electronics are incredibly expensive. imagine if you wanted a nintendo switch, but it costed 2000 dollars and also each game is like 300. thats just how it is here. its pretty dire
