i may still be a little bitter about when the kix reveal came out LOL ive had to permanently shelve this character because of it

A clone's training is determined for them from the tube. All scuba troopers have clone base training for ground warfare, but not all clones have training for aquatic warfare. I think the Kaminoans would take particular care mapping out the best wing choice for each unit depending because of this. Scuba troopers with penguin wings(which is a weird visual...) or another aquatic bird like loons(imagine the insults I:) so they can experience the best of both worlds for either field setting: flight and swimming. Coruscant Guard is a fun case for me because I am incredibly biased so I do fall prey to assigning my favourite birds to them... The Guard are stationed on Coruscant, but not bound to it. Contrary to fandom belief they're less cops(Coruscant has 2 police forces, neither of which are the CG) and more akin to feds(cop adjacent, i know), and dont really have direct irl comparison aside from USA Secret Service type agencies. We only see them protecting government officials and hunting down terrorists, and then working the prison, which, is probably full of war criminals-- okay I'm stopping here, this isn't "what does the Guard actually do" post. My point is, they're around people! A lot more than the average clone unit, so maybe the Kaminoans take practicality along with aesthetic into consideration for CG. Appearances are everything, even if the Kaminoans are very pragmatic they know this(their legends lore is very interesting and I think their weird colour caste system would be fun to apply to clone troopers, maybe...) so they make sure clones slated for the Guard have wings that benefit them and are also just pretty to look at. #propaganda So this gives me the excuse to give each Guard a different bird, but maybe could cause some discourse among the army... Hm...
