i know you’re out of the fandom for the most part but did you listen to hdigh? aperture? i would love to know your thoughts!

Hello!!! I am doing well, I actually am on a flight home from my very first time in London right now. Got to see lots of cool Harry and Louis stuff.

I listened to both! I actually saw the long ass line for the pre listening experience for Aperture and talked to some fans before release which was cool. Overall, it’s probably my least favorite Harry single yet. I thought it was genuinely cool and unique musically, but I think it kind of let down on what I thought it was building up. Really no climax or interesting vocals that I’m used to hearing from H. I also don’t really understand his thought process on over producing his vocals either, I just adore his more raw voice. But I do look forward to this shift in sound for the new album generally. I found the music video boring compared to what I have seen Harry do creatively before.

I might post more detailed thoughts on HDWGH later, because I have only listened to it twice and once was the vinyl leak. Unfortunately I do think its probably his least consistent album for me yet. Its probably technically better than Walls, but I just only felt connected to about half the songs. So far, Jump the Gun On Fire Sanity Lazy and Dark to Light are my stand outs. I haven’t seen any music video other than Lemonade yet, but hopefully will catch up soon with Imposter.

Truly think Louis, intentionally or not, didn’t put his usual depth in this album. Which is my biggest criticism. It just feels very….surface level. Hope that changes for me with more listens, but I fear I am just not as connected to him as I once was.
