Listen I'm not saying the show fandom is not toxic, I've been known to criticize people who are being very toxic and parasocial towards children but I will always side-eye the people from the book fandom when they complain about it because the people who harassed a little girl and were racist toward Leah having the audacity of playing Annabeth Chase were part of our group.
You don't get to stand there and pretend to have the high ground about toxicity in the fandom when some were awful toward Leah who was 11/12 at the time.
Also, as a sidenote a lot of those new people in the show are probably children who are entering their first fandom because it is a show for children first and foremost and also I'm not sure the people who are bien parasocial and toxic are from the show fandom either.

I've tried to do this for S2 and failed (miserably. ep 5 pissed me off) but since the third season is upon us and the possibility of them cancelling this show is as low as me being able to not give a fuck and not watch, I decided that I will be chill about it.
I'll accept it for what it is — a high budget, canon divergent, ooc fanfiction. I like fics. I like aus. This is fine :)
okay so now that we have Comic-Con in a couple of weeks, and we're probably getting a teaser trailer (plus Q&A with the cast) I'm very excited about the season.
I like TTC as a book (and love some parts of it), because it's intense and action-packed, but I dislike how little we get from Annabeth. What will save that for me in the show is the fact that I know Walker is gonna act his butt off, yearning for her and just thinking about her while everything around him is going to shit. Based on what we already saw of him in S2 (ep 6 I'm looking at you) and the few interviews Walker gave about how he'd been playing Percy locked in and looking for Annabeth, I think it's safe to say the whole fandom is about to be destroyed by his performance. Can't wait.
