Hi kids, this is your mom.
Talking to the future is something weird, huh? You’re not here in the present with me yet, but I’m already excited for the day I get to talk and meet you. Today I had the motivation to write something to you, a little note to you and my future self as a mom. As you read this, I hope you know how much I look forward to meeting you, even before you were born. I don’t know your gender, how you behave, your names, your traits, how many of you there are, but if Allah were to entrust me with little souls of which is a part of me and my future spouse, know that my love for all of you has already been decided eternally.
Dear little ones, I know that as you age, you’ll probably have many questions about the world as I did when I was little. Why is the sky blue? Why is the grass green? Why is there night and day? What’s it like to travel to space? Though I don’t know how innocent or how complicated your questions may be, I hope you stay curious about the wonders of the world and the secrets that our eyes and human senses can’t be able to see or experience. Because this world and the universe are vast, and so is your Lord. Continue to seek it.
Dear tiny creatures, one of my worries about being a mom is how I’ll behave once I become one. I hope that I’m a mother who gives a sense of comfort to you all, a home that you’ll always return to. I hope I also become someone fun who you like to spend time with, someone that you can talk to about your worries, your achievements, your funny stories, your failures and accomplishments. I hope I am someone who you come to, to seek advice about life or love. And I hope I become a mother who you are proud of.
Dear kids, as you age, you’ll go through various phases of life. You’ll come to love it, then hate it. Then seek its purpose just to get confused. You’ll try to follow the path of others, then come to find your own way of living. I can’t say the right way to live life, cause right now, I’m still asking that very same question. But then again, I guess there’s no one right way to live life because it depends on our principles. But as it is the same for me, your dad, and other human beings on earth with Imaan, I hope the further you seek life, the nearer it brings you to The Almighty. I hope He guides you closer to Him by finding the joy and beauty of our religion, Islam. And I hope that every step of your life, brings you to a conclusion of the immense love He has had for you.
Maybe the first time you read these sentences will seem like nonsense. But that’s why I left it here, so you can come back to it each time you feel lost and read it for the second, third, fourth, and infinite number of times until you finally understand each word I meant.
Stay healthy and positive kids!
