#RUNONWEEK | Day One: Emotional Support Character of Choice | Oh Mi-joo
Grown and sexy! I may already be in my thirties but Oh Mi-joo is the adult I aspire to be.
Mi-joo is self-sufficient, hardworking, but knows how to have fun. She deeply cares for and has the ability to read others, but can draw clear boundaries in order to protect herself. For the longest time, Mi-joo herself was all she had. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to maintain healthy relationships, as is shown with her friendship with May, relationship with Seon-gyeom, and general supportiveness towards acquaintances and new friends.
She won’t hesitate to fiercely stand up for herself and others but is also able to see the bigger picture, often times offering apologies in order to keep the peace (which may or may not be a good thing). This girl knows to prioritize her self and livelihood, and she’s honest about it.
I also love that Mi-joo is so passionate about her work and hobbies, and her personal style is rad as well (c’mon, menswear and casual street wear!)
“I value myself more than anyone else. Only I can make myself feel better since they’re my feelings.”
“It’s better to step up and acknowledge what you did wrong.”
“You should care for yourself before you care for others.”
“Don’t try to seem okay if that’s what you’re doing.”
“Why not include your failures as part of the process? It’s also a part of your journey to success.”
“People tend to say they did things for no reason to prevent anyone from feeling burdened.”
“No one is born being able to endure pain from the start.”
“You don’t always have to overcome everything. You can rest on the weekends. So if you don’t want to do something, just don’t.”
“I want you to love yourself a little more. That’s how we can keep a long and healthy relationship.”
