instead of a proposal ( because they dragged that out for 3 seasons for genuinely no valid reason) rapunzel and eugene would get into an argument, one that is bigger and more serious than their usual disagreements. for example it could possibly be that rapunzel is running around and touching everything she sees while eugene is following her to make sure she doesn’t get hurt and she almost touches a poisonous plant on accident so eugene has to drag her away and tell her she can’t just run around doing whatever she wants because she could get hurt and she tries to brush him off like it’s not a big deal which upsets him and it turns into some sort of argument between them making things awkward for everyone so then eugene and lance leave, similar to how it happens in the original episode to get away from the awkwardness and basically everything happens how it did originally, (cass and rapunzel talk about what happened then adira shows up and lance and eugene also talk about what happened until they get tricked and taken by the baron) then obviously eugene sees the baron and stalyan again and lance gets poisoned and from this point until we see eugene in the jail cell everything happens the same as the episode originally did but when eugene and stalyan are talking before the engagement is announced, you can see stalyan feeling slightly guilty when eugene is telling her to call off the wedding and then at the jail cell eugene is basically begging at this point and he apologizes about leaving her at the altar but says he genuinely loves rapunzel and that if they got married it wouldn’t make either of them any happier but they’d both be miserable with each other and at this point she’s basically on the verge of tears (can you tell i’m a stalyan defender) and she leaves before she actually cries in front of him. she then goes to her dad and tells him to call off the wedding and her dad refuses and tells her he knew eugene wouldn’t be willing to marry her which is why he poisoned lance because he wants eugene trapped in this marriage he doesn’t want so he has to suffer for betraying the baron, stalyan keeps trying to talk him out of it saying SHE doesn’t want the marriage but her dad won’t budge. stalyan then goes back to eugene and tells him that her dad refuses to call off the wedding after she begged him and eugene tells her he has to stay in the cell in case the baron checks in and sees him gone but tell’s stalyan to go find rapunzel, explain everything that’s going on and have her help get the antidote, obviously stalyan is reluctant but ends up doing it. she goes to rapunzel and things are awkward at first but she explains everything and they come up with a plan, basically the same plan rapunzel originally had to crash the wedding but this time stalyan and eugene are pretending they’re gonna get married and stalyan puts rapunzel and cassandra down as people invited to the wedding and everything plays out almost exactly as it did in the episode except stalyan is helping so no tug of war and after the baron gets poisoned anthony the weasel drags him out instead of stalyan. after that eugene and rapunzel are reunited and they have a genuine talk about their argument (not how it happened in the episode when they both shut each other down when they tried to talk because that was stupid) and then stalyan apologizes to both of them for the forced wedding and they all are on good terms. this could also mean that stalyan can be more involved in the future vardaros episodes, she can basically show them around town and help them make the town better like rapunzel wanted.

this would not only make tangled fans be more open to forgiving and liking stalyan but it would also make the eye of pincosta episode focus on lance and rapunzel and give us an episode where they actually interact since for some reason the creators of the show never wanna give us that.
