So, obviously, I want MJ and Ned to fully remember Peter, and what he sacrificed for them and why. I would give ANYTHING for an "MJ remembers Peter and runs to him" scene in a movie.
HOWEVER
Jean Grey basically told Peter, and thus the audience, that his old life is gone. MJ had no memories of him, according to Jean and MJ herself. The spell worked.
The name of the movie is Brand New Day, and each day can be seen as a new beginning.
I think the only thing more lovely than MJ and Ned getting their memories back is them becoming friends, and Peter and MJ falling in love, all over again. They make new memories. They start over.
Because they aren't the people they used to be. None of them are. It's a brand new day for all of them.
