I went to see a French animated film today that was screened at the Annecy Festival and that I'd been hearing a lot about lately, and gay...SUPER GAY. GAY GAY GAY GAY lmfao x)

For real though, this movie is such a feel good film, genuinely hilarious and packed with tons of refs of pop culture, movies, and even anime like DBZ. And it has songs ;)

The humor is carried by a simple but incredibly expressive animation style that works so well, and even the sex jokes (which I'm usually not a fan of) landed perfectly x)

Also, a few of well known French figures from the queer community participated to it :) and you really can tell the creators know what they're talking about bcs they lovingly parody different gay communities while also not shying away from showing some of their less flattering sides. And oc, it goes HARD on the far right politicians XD Between the conversion therapy jokes, the role reversal where straight people are the ones getting hate, and all the other satirical digs, they really don't hold back and it's glorious x))

I'm reaaaally happy that a movie like this is getting a theatrical release, especially considering it was made possible through crowdfunding.

This month has sadly been marked by several homophobic incidents here in France, and today's Pride march was also canceled bcs of the heat (such an excuse when they hadn't gone ahead with other events this week on days that were even hotter). So this movie feels like one big fuc* you to all the hateful people out there ;p

Beaucoup de personnes queers parmi les comédien'nes de doublage, notamment Alex Ramirès, Shirley Souagnon, Philippe Katerine ou La Briochée ✨

C'est un film produit par la même boîte que Les Kassos, donc l'humour est trash et parfois NSFW ou absurde, mais personnellement je l'ai trouvé très drôle ! Et avec un message important, surtout de nos jours 🌈
