i love that people started using "xitter" for x/twitter because now i pronounce it "shitter"
I fear a lot of people learned to take good care of library books as children and instead of internalizing "leave shared community items as you found them as much as possible, because other people will use them too" they internalized "printing and binding a book imbues it with sacred energy and if you dog-ear a mass-market paperback you're desecrating the entire concept of written language"
And also, if you have a book that's badly damaged or worn that you aren't going to keep, it is perfectly fine to throw it away. In all likelihood, your library or local charity does not want it. Most books aren't made to last decades of repeated use, and that's okay! Like any object, they reach the end of their usable life. If you truly can't bear to throw a book away, try using it for an art project.
Do you like names? (I'm curious what people think because it's my main autistic fixation.)
Yes
No
I've never really given the opinion on names much thought
I have mixed opinions
Only first names
Only last names
I'd like to keep my opinion on names secret

an idea that won't stop returning to me is compostable period products. my pads are made of all this stuff that sounds and feels plastic-adjacent and non-biodegradable, a fact that upsets me greatly. I'm literally just throwing away so much blood when I could be feeding it to plants.
surely there are pads made of fully biodegradable and safely compostable materials. my body thinks tampons are Ouch so that's not going to work.
I want to grow plants out of my own blood. please please please
we should make the technology to easily and safely do this with all bodily waste products.
its kind of absurd imo that we didn't build society around nutrient cycling and instead decided to have problems with managing poop and unrelated problems with fertilizing our fields
sewage sludge IS used as fertilizer sometimes but its also often contaminated because of the wide array of things that get flushed down drains. im saying you should be able to crap into a bucket, press a "sterilize" button on the bucket that makes it heat up like an autoclave, and dump the crap into a compost pile within like 25 minutes. and this contraption should be available at walmart for 50 bucks
don't let this idea distract you from the compostable pads though. some people will not see my vision of the autoclaving compost crapbucket and thats okay.
but you will see my vision for feeding plants with my blood whether you like it or not
this is me but with pet waste. at least my shit goes to the wastewater treatment plant, but my dog's gets put in a plastic bag and goes to a landfill. they have "compostable" bags nowadays, but like with so many products labeled "compostable," they can only actually be composted industrially and not at home.
i think your constant posts about labubu gore are teally weird and insensitive considering labubu are catholic coded
Can you guys please just fucking send me anon hate or something

got tricked into majoring in linguistics because they said they had PIE and IPA. thought I was getting dessert and beer, got all these nerdy tables and diagrams instead.

I don’t know how people can describe their personality as one way or another because all I know is I’m fickle, indecisive, inconsistent, contradictory, confused, flaky, wishy-washy, easily swayed, hypocritical...
but sometimes I'm consistent, predictable, decisive, certain, stubborn, firm, reliable--oops
its important to write fanfiction no one cares about 👍
this post from like 2 hours ago already got more attention than the fic in question will get in a year

I feel frustrated when, in a fandom space, a few people start being treated as authorities and looked to for validation. Regardless of their credibility, it stifles differing opinions and the "more cake the better" conception of fandom
It's so important to remember that when it comes to developmental research, almost everything is confounded* with poverty (*hard to distinguish from). Breastfeeding leads to "better" children? Who has the time, energy, and family support to breastfeed? The middle and upper class (especially in the US which has no paid maternity leave, and guess where a lot of research comes from). So is it really breastfeeding or wealth? Self-control on the marshmallow test leads to better life outcomes? Nope, highly correlated with poverty. Less screen time is important for development? Guess who can pay for better daycare and take advantage of maternity leave? Guess who is stuck using a screen as a babysitter so their family can eat? You can't pick these factors apart; is it the sceentime or is it the thousands of small benefits a child picks up when their parent isn't barely keeping their head above water?
And anyone who replies to this, "Well then the poor shouldn't have children" I'll turn you into Soylent Green because, aside from that being eugenics and all the other reasons, guess what else is highly correlated with poverty? Access to birth control and factual sex education. The solution is to help people out of poverty
Edit: to perhaps be a bit more clear, it's not a parenting "choice" if it's your only option. If someone is choosing formula, or screentime, or whatever because poverty has given them no other choice, then you aren't studying parenting you are studying poverty
