The heat of a presence beside him had Jesse straightening, and the whites of his teeth glinting in the darkness of the club. Of course, it wasnât who he thought it was. The light in his eyes dimmed slightly, but his smile remained.Â
( he was expecting somebody else. one with skin that almost glittered beneath these flashing lights. he hoped this stranger wouldnât be offended by his obvious disappointment. )
his elbows leant on the high table, and just as he opened his mouth, the girl spoke before he could. â hi. i was wondering, did you know what time the next band is playing? â jesse shook his head, frowning. if he couldnât remember what he had for breakfast, he certainly couldnât remember the names he read on the flier vienna showed him the night before.
he answered her, aplogy seeping into his tone. â i couldnât tell you, iâm sorry. maybe they have a set list somewhere? â the blonde shrugged quickly.
â donât worry. it was just an EXCUSE. â jesse frowned. an excuse for what? the sound of giggling met his ears, and beginning to turn towards the commotion, a manicured hand quickly gripped his forearm. jesseâs attention was diverted back to the stranger. â âare you hurt?â
he laughed, taking a moment for the realisation to sink in. â hurt? nah. its the repercussions of living with a lively husky. â the scratches didnât bother him in the slightest, through football, he had suffered from WORSE.
ruby nails lifted to press against her lips, and her girlish giggles tumbled through the gaps. â oh, thatâs so cute! how about the owner, are they as lively?â
â i would say so.â jesse glanced around for said owner. he shouldnât have let vi wander off on her own. he had half a mind to go search for her, especially as the bar began to FILL UP.
the LIGHTS were distracting to say the least, but just because they were pretty. the way they swung back and forth form the ceiling and illuminated the room, the sound of music filling her ears and making her feel ENERGIZED. vienna loved people, and most of the time it exhilarated her to be a part of large groups. she always felt relatively high on life in the core of a crowd that was hiked up to full volume with excitement.Â
(  only problem was it made it harder to find princess.  )
but she did eventually, smiling brightly under the florescent lights until a blonde girl reached out for his wrist. leaning close in a way that made it OBVIOUS to vienna what her endgame was. it made her smile drop subtly as she approach, hovering next to jesse with an unsure yet neutral look on her face. she even made it her mission in life at the particular moment to SMILE at the girl. vienna knew there was no reason to be jealous. she knew it with every fiber of her being, something she was proud to be able to say.
that two people could love each other enough that everyone that could have been a THREAT just... wasnât.  it was a weightless sort of feeling, but it didnât mean that girls trying to pick jesse up didnât still make her uncomfortable. (  just because it was hard to watch, regardless if jesse was aware. which, by the looks of it, he wasnât. ) she supposed it was a GOOD thing that he was oblivious, at least it meant he wasnât thinking like that. then again, the blonde probably wasnât aware of his relationship status with vienna, either. so vienna was too nice to judge her for it yet, even if glaring at her was getting increasingly harder to resist as her chipper voice infiltrated viennaâs ears. but she cleared her throat instead, reaching out to rest her hand on jesseâs arm from behind him and lay her head against the back of his shoulder. even knowing that her blood was increasingly HOT for nothing, she still wanted everyone to know jesse wasnât available. she was just too classy to get CRAZY over it. this was the alternative.
(  she politely smiled at the blonde girl again.  )
then leaned towards jesseâs ear to whisper softly against it so she couldnât be heard by anyone else over the music. â  guess who thinks youâre super sexy and wants to go home with you tonight? hint, itâs not me. â with pursed lips, she corrected herself. â well, itâs not just me. â  vienna hoped he caught on, discomfort blaring obviously in her calm tone. and itâs when she noticed a flicker of TERRITORY being threatened in the blonde girlâs eyes, and it was then that she realized vienna may have simply looked like competition to her. when in reality, vienna was just trying to nicely make it known he already had a girlfriend.Â
                OH BOY.
